the first time that I watched your video I was reminded of my mother making corn bread didn't matter which type she always used lard (or Crisco) or bacon dripping's to grease the pan with, some times bits of the bacon found their way into the corn bread. Now that was back in the day s when we didn't know that animal fat was bad for us, only that it made everything taste SOooo good . Good video Blackie and thanks for the trip DML

I was looking around some time ago for a good hatchet that i could use and kind of wanted something vintage, so i found the boyscout hatchet, and just a few days ago i also bought the boyscout mess kit, canteen, and it came with a haversack. So i am very much enjoying someone actually cooking with this mess kit as i dont have mine yet (still in shipping) great video!

We used to take our finger tip and wallow out a hole in the middle so it would cook more evenly /faster.
