You have the best demonstration of how to use Khukri in the wild. Thank you very much for your effort to share it.

99 percent of youtube kukri users do not know how to properly chop with one. They hold it like they are holding a bat or hatchet. They do not flex the wrist. Watching someone review their new kukri and the using it like a hatchet trying to chop a log is comical. They get a nice little V after chopping enough to cut most or all the way through a log. I am glad you are trying to teach proper use.

I am enjoying this series of Kukri videos, thanks Blackie. We used Kukris for about 2 years in the Malaysian jungle, military usage, but even after 2 years hands on I am learning so much more about them and their versatility from your series.

Say Heah Blackie, I love that T-shirt, Good one William Collins. Anyhow, I have Traditional Khukuris and a Kukuri. Mine is a Cold Steel Kukuri Plus in O1 which I teamed up with my C. S. San Mai 3 Master Hunter. Oh, as a year ago, San Mai 3 is now with a 3V core instead of VG-1 (F. Y. I.). My Khuris are the N-43 I have a Large and Smaller one in these two. Made from a Old Mercedes Benz Leaf Spring according to Yangdu's and Bill (R. I. P.) her Husband. He suprized me with a White Bone on my Smaller one, It came out Beautiful, Infact my Larger One I call "The Beast". Thanx You for the safety tips, Blackie.,,. p

I bought my Kukri from Kurt at Madras Arsenal. It's hand made and exceptional. I caught it on sale. I have had it for about 6 months and haven't finished sharpening yet. It's pretty sharp already but I know it can be made a lot sharper.

Stew Knoles I bought a Hamilton kukri from Madras Arsenal a couple weeks ago! Sharpened it real good with a diamond rod and that thing is a cutting monster!

I’m very late to the kukri and just picked up a Condor. Looks like a winner but I’m looking to make the grip a smidge grippy. Beeswax? I don’t want to cover the peerdy wood and brass.

Say Heah Blackie, Yeah, no doubt a Khukuri (Kukuri) are awesome Chopper's. But this weekend I just went out with just a Basic Trio. Infact one of my Fav's cold weather Trio's. I brought my Rodent 6 which I had it modified at the Busse Custom Shop, now it look's like a Ratmandu on steroids. I love it, I also brought my 17"Hultafors Bruks Agdor Hatchet and my Wicked Tough Saw. As a back-up I brought my Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter Folder. I always bring my Gerber vintage Multi Tool too. I really enjoy watching your Khukuris video's. Infact your The Khukuris King. You did good, Dilly, Dilly, (I stole the Dilly, Dilly, from a Budweiser commercial), heh heh heh.,,.p

Do you think an aftermarket sheath, like kydex and an aftermarket handle, say from micarta, would add or detract to the kukuri, seems to me whilst the blade and shape is great the other stuff is behind the times, sure its traditional but modern material could make it better?
@blackoracle696 жыл бұрын
to me if it makes it work better or if it makes it easier to care for in the field..then i am for it

Everything great except the un-sheathing part. NEVER put your fingers on the front of the sheath when drawing (or putting it back in) the kukri. Watch this vid for proper un-sheathing and re-sheathing a kukri (and any blade in my opinion) kzbin.info/www/bejne/inzOioSXbaaSi6c

I'd second Madras Arsenal! They're beautifully made, very tough, but not overly heavy like many of the H.I. kukris. Tora Blades is probably the overall highest quality kukri maker, but you have to wait months for your kukri to arrive.
