@@SladesVWBeetle We tried installing the windshield and the upper corners wont sit into the frame. What are we doing wrong? we used silicone spray on the rubber and that did not help. Good video very interesting. Thank you

Very helpful...THANK YOU!!!! You show the cleaning of the reused windshield...For some reason I found it extremely difficult when putting the rubber on on the glass...Took a little patience on my part but I eventually got there. Some tips or pointers on putting the rubber on the glass would have also been helpful. Great video!!!

Hi Slade, good video. I see this is new. At first I thought I missed one of your old videos till you guys mentioned covid. I agree with you guys. There is some risk worth taking on this crap. We are having or family over for Father's day. First time we have all been together since February. I have a buddy I go see who has his first car still. Mid 60's Dodge Cornet 440 R/T. Oh, So that's one of the reasons you took a break. Understand why and sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad 99. My wife and I joked after a year or so after he wanted to go that year since he had the marker on my mom and his grave already 19--. A year later and he would have had to spend more money getting it fix. The marker was already there with my mom who passed in 81. He was really tight with money like Jack Benny😁

Great video! Does this windscreen use a different sized rubber compared to the flat windscreens?

@@Darkstorm666 yes, it actually does. All the windshields that are curved use a different design. Always best to get your windshield, or other window rubber seals from West Coast metric or Wolfsburg West. They are a softer rubber, which helps in the installation.

Do different year super beetles have different sized windshields? I have a 1974 and the windshield is not fitting correctly, I'm thinking that the glass most be off a different year parts car

Super beetle windshield fit from 1973-1977. However, I am almost certain that a super beetle convertible windshield is different. I’m wondering if that’s the windshield you have.

I am having problems installing my windshield on my 78 The rubber lip won't slide in past the metal rim. What am I doing wrong? I don't want to tap it because I don't want to break the window. Any help is appreciated.

I don't think that can be done. Well I mean anything can be done, but it wouldn't be fun.

A lot of people say to use Weedwhacker cord. But we use like a thick twine that was coated in nylon. I wish I could describe it better.

I have a 73SB, when I lay my rear window the 4 corners are not flush against the frame...did you do the rear window and was yours like that too if u did it?

They do honestly fight with ya, and are tight. Make sure to use some lubricant on on the rubber first. Dawn dish washing liquid works great. Then slowly put pressure, "don't get crazy on it", you'll break it. You'll have to use palm slaps, "NO HAMMER FISTING"! Until you work it into place.
