Thank you! Yes, more DIY tools! I mean, we are crafters who make things out of things others throw away yet pay so much $$ for the tools we buy so we can DIY! Or is it just me? 😂

Thank you for the bone cradle plan. I have substituted the awl and bone folder easily enough, but punching the signatures has been patience and luck, with the holes occasionally going to one side by the time the awl goes through.

I don't know how iT would work with a cradle, but I use an electric drill with a small drill bit to make my holes. No, iT isn't exactly DIY tool. Just sayin'. I might make a cradle. I even have the same brand of cardboard used here sitting in my lab waiting to be repurposed. I did some research on making a cradle online and they are crazy complicated.

I found that 3 ring binders have super heavy cardboard inside the vinyl covers. Most businesses throw the out. You can find them in thrift stores and creative reuse centers. Cheap. Sometimes free. Just cut the covers off the binder and strip off the vinyl.
