Thanks for your review, pretty versatile machine. Like the drop-in modules and cross hairs for framing. Especially if you have limited space, this could be the machine to get.

Thanks for checking it out. I'm always a little leary about multifunction machines, but they seems to have the module swap pretty smooth and each function does a decent job for its intended purpose. This would be great for someone wanting to dabble in each process without taking up all the room for each individual machine.

I do not have a xTool M1 (or any laser for that matter) but I've been watching a lot of video reviews for the M1. One of the things that somebody else said was that for material you need to add heat to make the ink set in the material. I know that is not a sublimation ink but for the mouse pads if you add heat it may make the colors more vibrant. I have done Iron on transfers and sublimation and I know any print that I have ever done looks more faded until heat is applied. Again I do not know for certain if that will work but it may be something to consider trying.

Very good review. I definitely think the M1 ultra is geared towards paper and vinyl crafter that just want the ability to cut out thicker materials. Smart idea for laser companies to open up another customer base. Great fun for small crafter to make fun things.

I agree that this machine is aimed at the paper and vinyl crafter, with some options for other materials. It works well within the working area of just under 12" square. I love seeing unique tools and machines and this fits into that category well for me. I'm planning on playing more with the heat transfers and hope they come out with other ink modules as well for the printer head. Thanks for watching!

Do you leave the original base plate in and then remove as needed when using the riser base for deeper projects?

Yes, most of the modules require the stock baseplate in to function properly. The riser base is primarily for laser work on deeper items.

Another Excellent video. I enjoy your content and it is always helpful. Question: I am looking to upgrade my Xtool 20w by buying the 40w laser upgrade. Its a $1000. Do you think its worth it? I am also thinking of buying a separate 40w unit all together and keeping my 20w in place. I wrote Clack as well because I value both of your expertise in our field. Thank you... Kenny in Florida

If you have the room, I'll always go for a second machine over just a second module. It allows more flexibility and you can work on multiple projects at the same time.
