I worked at a little body shop here in Fort Wayne Indiana and there was this yellow focus ST that was wrecked in the front end and the owner had sat on this car for close to 6 months before it was even touched, one day he comes to me and asked if I wanted to go to NY with him I said sure why not. I was paid by the hour on the road or not so it wasnt hurting me either way. We get there and sure enough we're picking up a yellow focus ST that's wrecked in the rear. We get back cut both of them in half drilling out the welds under the seats doing it the proper way and welded the 1 car back together. Some guy come down from Michigan to buy and it's been on the road ever since and that was roughly 5 years ago

Craig Lieberman is one of the best storytellers imo. I like how his honest response about choosing the Neon SRT-4 as the main car. If it's not because of him, I don't think Fast and Furious franchise succeeded and reach where it stands today.

Friend of mine bought a bmw that had been frankensteined, the vin on the dash didn't match the vin on the doorframe but did match the vin on the strut tower. Whoever performed the surgery did a pretty good job but I dont understand why someone would go to such lengths on a e46 3 series. My friend caught it during pre-purchase inspection, I think he got it for 10% of what they were asking, the seller didn't want to haggle I think at that point he would have given the car away.

As a tech it is out of our hands on BIG ticket items for warranty. You have to get it approved by the manufacturer. If they tell you short block even though it's had 7 you're doing a short block.

Sometimes used cars get sold before they go through the shop and get inspected. Therefore no mechanic as looked at it and no one has looked under the car thoroughly.
