@@shadowwarsshadypeople6299 Mom had a ‘11 Prius, drove it out to California and back in 2019, think I spent $87 total in gas. Full tank was $20 which got around 450 miles on eco mode. Can’t beat that. Edit: maybe it was $107, not sure. I know with gas prices how they are right now in Oklahoma, her new 2021 Prius is $36 to fill up at costco (which is crazy, my wife’s Corolla is $48 not even tickling E) and that gets you 450 miles at 57mpg, that’s booking it down the highway with the AC blasting on high.

Man, the most fun I've had while driving was in an old, tired little turbo diesel van pulling a trailer. Although weak, the engine had excellent throttle response above 2k rpm. The car had a sloppy manual transmission, rear wheel drive and an unusually tight steering rack. I sat there, trying to maintain momentum through corners on these windy country roads, foot to the floor up every hill, focusing on perfect gear changes. All to just about keep up with traffic. I drive same route now with the same load in modern car with actual decent handling, great brakes, loads more power and a good auto box. It's dreadfully boring! I'd have to drive like a maniac to have any fun now.

This is so true. In a high performance car alot of the effort to drive fast is done for you. In a relatively normal car one has to ragg it to the red line to get the most out of it. And to know when to rag it when approaching hills etc.. constantly thinking while driving. Whereas say a lambo just sits there all day long @ 100mph.. Allegedly, with no effort...
