11:26 Thats a big fear of mine. Just to clarify, I'm a detailer and occasionally we have customers that leave firearms sitting out in the open. I love guns but I don't want to be liable and responsible for someone elses guns. We have to remove them from the vehicle and it worries me that we can get in trouble for having firearms just sitting out in the shop even though they're not ours.

I used to work for a Valet company in Eastern Pennsylvania. I remember a customer coming in with a blue mercury with 24" rims. It was the equivalent of a Ford Crown Vic. I don't remember the car's name. Anyway all I remember is when I'm going to go give him a ticket after greeting him, he said there's a loaded gun underneath my seat whatever you do don't touch it. But he said it with a smile so it was kind of like off putting because it was a friendly like "Hey man just don't touch this." I said oaky. so I pulled out and crossed the street to park an our secure gated lot. Parked the car, then looked down and behold there is a loaded glock 17 with an extended 30 round mag. I can see that it's loaded.. The grip is facing me (muzzle pointed rear for easy access) and I'm just thinking to myself man this guy must have came from Philadelphia hood or something because this is a drive by car. Im in a drug car or something. no holster. no nothing. just laying open on the carpet. Just saying I'm a huge fan of guns I used to sell them at cabelas but in this particular case I didn't touch a Dang thing or tell anybody anything Besides "Hey let me be the sole person to get this car. The customer asked for me specifically"

Same thing happened when my parents ran a small motel they built. We got a lot of construction workers as regulars and sometimes the local cops would find out they had weapons with them and tell them they couldn't carry in that jurisdiction. They'd usually leave them in an unlocked desk drawer with their ammo for the housekeepers to find. It would have been smart to at least notify us so we could secure them properly. Interestingly, most had way too heavy a load for the face to face defense you usually use "short guns" for.

Used to be a mechanic at a Chevy dealer in KY, kind of a rural area. Guy drops off a Silverado says his glovebox won’t open and his usb connector(or something like that) inside the center console armrest doesn’t work, and he’s got some kind of rattle noise coming from back side of the cab. After about 30 mins of messing with the glove box open it up and his pistol which he keeps in there had moved around in su th a position where it jammed when trying to open it and wouldn’t let the glovebox open, also found a wallet and a bunch of money from previous owner behind the glove box, one problem, he bought the truck used and it belongs to previous owner who traded it in about 3 years ago. Open the center console, another pistol and a few clips… had the shop foreman take a picture did not work on that this visit. Go to back area of cab looking for noise lift up seat, find a hunting rifle and handfuls of loose ammo. Took another picture, didn’t work on that either. Guy comes in the shop a few days later and days later and explains he owns a farm and they go out on property every week and hunt coyotes at night, that’s why he keeps so many guns in the truck, makes sense the truck is very dirty kinda farm truck lookin beat up n such, buncha farm stuff in the bed.

@@deantwaunbalton1177 that is actually the issue insurance companies will try to find anyone to foot the bill rather then themselves. It most likely wouldn't be the owner suing them it would be the insurance company hoping the the business (or the businesses insurance) figuring it would just be cheaper for them to settle.

Having worked at several dealerships over 10 years as a mechanic I’m trying to figure out how a car got lost for 3 weeks… I understand he explains something about being at a different dealership just across the parking lot or something but anywhere I’ve worked at they’d look at the cameras within the first 2 days.. and that driver would get fired and or banned from the property.

Akins Ford in Winder, GA lost my truck for 4 hours. Dropped it off for an oil change. They called to tell me it was done. Got to the dealer and they couldn't find who parked it and where they parked it. Too many people touch it and too little organization. Dealerships are a frickin mess. Closest thing to operating like a government (expensive, ineffecient, no intercommunication)
@altonb93

I don’t know how they lost it in the car wash😂 did no one go through it for that 3 weeks? Someone had to have noticed it. At my dealership we would lose cars sometimes because service advisors would write a ticket before the car got there. We would get sublets from other dealerships that didn’t know how to work on these cars/suvs. I was at a cadillac dealership. Someone from the other dealership is supposed to drop the vehicle off and a few times they would never show and forgotten about it. We would search our entire lot searching for it and find nothing. Then the service advisor would call and see if it was dropped off. They would reply yeah but we have no idea where it would be. Either they forgot to drop it off or the person that was supposed to left work early for vacation never did. This would go on for a couple days like its not that hard to find a car. They would assume that it was dropped off here and not even check. Then they would finally look for it after we keep telling them we don’t have it and find it within 5 minutes of searching. Some people are just ignorant and can’t rely on for anything

When I say I got someone, it wasn’t like a small bump… this dude jumped off the curb in front of me on a No Walk and I hit him, he rolled up onto the hood and hit the windshield and rolled off. I freaked and jumped out asking if he needed an ambulance, the owner ran over and checked on us. The owner gave me a $20 tip, got in his car and drove off… the guy I hit got up and walked off like it didn’t happen…. I was just stuck standing there looking around wondering if this was a dream

So your guy delivers a carpet in a golf cart that was woefully inadequate for the job and when he has what sounds like a pretty minor fender bender (totally due to the carpet) you make him walk going forward. A self described good employee. Punished for something you made him do. Yeah, not many people eager to work for you I would imagine. And why wouldn't the carts be insured?? Another inadequacy in your management of the company. Sorry dude, I don't mean to be nasty but I've seen so much of this that could be prevented if the owner had a clue, or at least sat down for 30 minutes with his insurance company to determine if he has sufficient coverage.

Lol stuck in the elevator, I used to work valet and man our hotel was "nice" but had the jankiest elevators. Got off work, me and another valet(Taylor) I worked with took the garage elevator to the lower floor where we were parked, stairs were way out of the way. Elevator stops at bottom floor but doors only open about 1/3rd. Buttons did nothing, thing was jammed. Of course Taylor is Mr just turned 21, state champions high school lacrosse captain, 5'6" 130lbs built/runs like a jack russell terrior. He slips thru that crack no problem, I'm kind of starting to panic, I have a bad case of claustrophobia. My short fatass is also about 5"6 but 170lbs, I'm thinking I "MIGHT" wiggle thru the crack. I hit the emergency stop pull on the elevator and try to wiggle thru, proceeding to get myself stuck. Felt like Winey the Pooh getting stuck in Rabbit's hole lol. Luckily between the two of us we managed to get the doors wedged open a couple more inches, but I had a total freak out/borderline panic attack.

After a year as a valet for the largest hotel in daytona the best stories are always bike week. Every year we get threats or fights with bikers. My first bike week I got into an argument with a couple about where they can park. One of the guys had his wife with him, who started cursing me out. I told them to stop fucking arguing with me and the biker gets off his bike and comes at me to fight. Seemed like he was coked out of his mind the way he was talking. I got security, and later I found out that he dropped his bike when coming to get me, and he called the police to tell them that I pushed him over on his bike and hurt his ankle. Cameras saved me from going to jail that day…

I work roadside assistance dispatch and losing cars at dealerships is not just common, it’s an every day thing. We get a car towed in to a dealer. If our driver doesn’t talk to someone at the dealer, they have no idea it’s there

I work in the service center of a dealership, and we have rental vehicles for overnight customers, and when 1 comes back it gets thororughly checked over, then cleaned and gassed up and ready for the next, well 1 person didnt do a thorough check, and the 1st customer had left their gun in the rental, and later that day that rental went out to another customer. That was fun to tell the 2nd customer hey we need to come get this out of your vehicle

i once was at a dealership as a porter and some customer left their gun in the car. i immeditely went to the service manager and said rather rude words about the customers intelligence and told the manager to call them and have them get it the f away. about an hour later the car didn't have a pistol in it anymore

The worst thing I’ve ever come across with a valet was having them not n on or how to drive my 1947 Packard with a three speed manual transmission and column shift. Twice they just kept it right at the valet station lol!

Well yeah, it's a relic. Manual column shifters are really really weird even if somebody grew up with manuals.
