Extreme rock insanity? I'm in! That's a fantastic collection of Terry Brooks records. I wonder if he even has copies of all those records himself? Disco Queen must really be interesting; I'll bet that 1980 tour was insane. Great entry Chris!

Hi Chris.. I never heard of Terry Brooks & Strange but I love the Psycho Records.. The Daily Flash acid archives video I did was their Psycho release as well as reissues of ca quintett & the paisleys. Glad you did another acid archives.

Thanks Chris. Oddly, that is my only Psycho label release. I just saw something on Psycho in the current Carolina Soul auction, but can't remember what it was.

Chris, I agree with the book review of ''Translucent World''. I think ''Raw Power'' is the better, of the two. It sounds more ''focused'' than the first recording.

I am glad I provided the samples, in that case. There is a CD version on Arkarma, but it seems to be expensive.

Hi Chris, I have a couple of Terry Brooks and Strange LPs, Translucent World and To Earth With Love. Translucent World, I had a hard time with his voice on that one, but To Earth With Love was much better, both albums contain some great guitar work. I haven't heard the Raw Power LP, but I will check it out. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on these cool albums, and hope you have a great Christmas!🎅

Does anyone have one (or many) of the sticker from Terry and Strange that said “Get Some Strange” then in small letters “to earth with love”. Not a vinyl sticker, more of a paper with adhesive backing. Just black on white paper. I did around a decade on a small non commercial FM radio station in Vermont in the 70’s and early 80’s and one day this album arrived in the mail. It got a real lot of airplay. Of course the sticker went straight onto my car. Somewhere I still have around a half of it, but would love to get a couple/few more.

I found the PDF file. I thought it was the 2nd editon. I have the 1st edition in book form. No PDF for the 2nd edition?

Terry Brooks and Strange are one of those outsider records where I think the appeal is his bizarre take on psych. He can't really sing and he's obsessed with soloing. Definitely not for everyone. Can't say I'm a fan, but I respect the oddity of it.
