My apologies!! of course it was richey Edward’s not Ricky Edward’s who went missing from the manic street preachers

Hi Steve. Very few people acknowledge Bruce Hornsby existence in the vc …. I quite like him …. Do you own anything by him ..? If not why not !😀. Thanks for watching Steve 👍

@@robwalkerletthemusicplay i spent some time trying to find the album you showed, it’s my favorite but actually had a hard time locating it. His next album as also excellent. He even made my top 10 ranking for that year. His piano playing is excellent and he does have a wonderful voice

Great finds- Chapterhouse, The Farm, OMD (I love Dazzle Ships as well), Bloc Party…great stuff, some of which are quite hard to score in the States. Actually saw Bloc Party on their first US jaunt around the time that first album came out 😎👍

Great haul Rob, a nice eclectic mix. Not a bad one shown. Bloc Party for the win. That Manics though is special. I have that Air on cd it's superb.

I missed Stockport Record Fair this time but hoping to get there in November. Thanks for reminding me - I must get a copy of Moon Safari in the collection!! Innervisions is such a brilliant album, I play it loads. The second I saw that yellow bag, I knew it was Kingbee lol. Such a brilliant shop. 👍. Cheers Rob.

Good finds - I love that Manics album - especially the final song “Williams last words” proper tear jerker - don’t see Chapterhouse that often - underrated band imo - and every collection needs a Revolver U.K. mono ❤

That Manics cover looks amazing in vinyl. I haven't seen it in the wild yet. The Bruce Hornsby title is excellent. He's a fantastic piano player. That's essential listening for Stevie Wonder. I agree he's one of the greatest songwriters. Some interesting Twelve Inch Singles.

“The Farm, kind of professional scousers…a little bit off putting when your from the Manchester area” 😂 Great buys there, Rob. I’m keen to get some Wedding Present again… lovely Revolver mono. Silent Alarm and Moon Safari 👌 I need a copy of Innervision too… excellent stuff!

Hi Rob, I enjoy your show, even though I only collect CD's, however, I'm interested to see what other people listen to and collect. I mainly listen to jazz / blues / country rock but a band I do enjoy from your part of the world is Magazine. I think 'Second-hand daylight', is excellent.

Mono Beatles, nice! I have the Manics album on CD. I don't think I've ever seen it on vinyl. Never been into OMD or any of those 80s synth-pop bands. They released a few decent singles, but I've never had the urge to buy an album. Silent Alarm is a cracking album. I have the CD. Likewise Moon Safari. That's a nice Bill Nelson. I have all of BeBob Deluxe on vinyl. One of my favourite bands ever and Bill is one of my favourite guitarists ever. Great miz of records, Rob. Cheers

Hi Rob. Just been spinning OMD tonight funnily enough. I have a mono Revolver but unfortunately it's slightly warped and only plays if I balance a 1 pence piece on top of my stylus. I remember Hue & Cry, will check out Stars Crashed Down. Moon Safari never really grabbed me back in the nineties ( thought they ripped off ELO too much with all those vocoders 😉). I did really like the Premiers Symptomes EP they did a couple of years after that though.

Hi Rob, nice to see Inner Space getting another shout out. I’ve been in a couple of times in the last month and filled my boots! For such a small space I think Brett does a great job in getting a good range of new vinyl and second hand. I’ve never failed to find something I want in there. Andy

Hi Andy , it must be really difficult opening a record shop , there’s so much competition… hopefully a few local viewers will visit inner space and support brettt .. thanks for watching and commenting Andy 👍

What a brilliant idea by wedding present to do a single a month with a cover on the flip. Tbh the covers seem more interesting. Crickey Rob you've been busy. I've barely dabbled much at all this year after leeds. Maybe a scouser nicked your Farm album. Am a bit lukewarm on them and fancy selling my copy. Manics you cannot go wrong with the first 5 1/2 ish ones. After then my interest dipped. Second album gold against the soul is very underrated.

Hi Martin … I have been busy buying and working this year 2024 has been a bit of a blur … the more I listen to the more recent manics albums the more I like them😀 , I can understand you being lukewarm about the farm…🐮I saw a video on KZbin about flooding in Aylesbury from a drone. …. Hope things are ok where you are ?
@ThevinylscavengerСағат бұрын
@@robwalkerletthemusicplay we are above water whereas lots of new houses are built on the floodplain. Traffic is awful. Took me an hour and a half to get to work one day last week. I'll PM text you more news if you still have my number I have yours OK.

Fantastic haul there Rob 😀🍿🎸🎶 I need to get that album by The Farm at some point as I heard pretty positive things about it 👍 Love OMD’s first four albums man; ‘Dazzle Ships’ is utterly marvellous; been meaning to revisit the albums ‘The Pacific Age’ & ‘Crush’ for a while now; do have a soft spot for their album ‘Sugar Tax’ 😊👍 Absolutely love AIR’s ‘Moon Safari’ mate; what an album 🤩 I saw them at the Piece Hall back in June and they were absolutely ace Rob; as Simple Minds were when I saw them in Glasgow back on Good Friday earlier this year 😀 Love The Wedding Present’s first two albums; haven’t got round to checking out their other studio albums in their catalogue; but I must make time for their other records as like you say; there an awesome band 😀👌 ‘Innervisions’ is a superb album Rob; I love listening to a lot of Soul in the Spring/Summer time; amazing stuff 🙌 Hope you having a great week Rob and fantastic Vinyl additions man; you got superb taste 😀🍿🎸🎶

I was going to say, and then you said it for me! That Manics cover looks absolutely stunning in vinyl size. I still haven’t come across it in the wild. Awesome find Rob! Congrats! I also had a copy of that The Farm album. The Space of their age? 😄 Long gone, no idea where or when. Probably school in Denmark My friend in South Africa sent me that OMD on CD for my birthday. Thought it was unheard of that I didn’t have it. He loves them. Bloc Party also great album that. Got them on CD. One of those early 2000’s we were blessed with. I love Moon Safari and my VMP copy I got last year. Think I bought it same day as OK Computer? Good day that, living in Copenhagen. Great great September finds that 😊

Your Best Buy has to be the Bill Nelson mini album, with Mick Karn onboard it makes for a fantastic listen. I agree that Bill Nelson is a superb artist but I do love his late 70s into the 80s period with the use of synths and electronics. Great production from him too.

I've not seen that Hue and Cry album on vinyl ever. I have a 10" release from that album, but I can't recall the title. There's a version of their first album (I think) which has a second disc of an intimate live performance, and I own a copy of that. Have you tried Convoy Records near Frodsham, Rob? I was up there a couple of weeks ago, and found very good stock (range and condition), sporty prices, and a friendly owner. Recommended.
