The effort/time to make stencil wouldn’t it be easier to just pop off the plastic?

That actually looks pretty cool. Looking foward for new ideas. I will be inplementing this one for sure :D Bought some sound proofing material, tommorow I'll be soundproofing my doors, for better sounding music and less outside noise :)
@CarsWithJB6 жыл бұрын
Nice - definitely send some pictures of the dashboard when you do it! That's actually a great idea, I noticed my sealing material is coming off the doors so I'll likely do the same in the near future - will also probably get some wind deflectors to minimise the noise on motorways. Thanks for watching and thanks for the support! :)

I had a very, very cracked dash, my door handles were ripped, since it was an old Mercedes (2002 W210 E class) you couldn't get that type of leather anywhere anymore. So what I did was basically the same, filled the cracks with epoxy so the wrap would stick, vinyl wrapped the entire dash with gray 5D carbon foil, it looked better than OEM, if I do say so myself.

Have you changed the VW logo on the steering wheel it looks brand new, and if yes where did you get it from? Thanks
@CarsWithJB6 жыл бұрын
Believe it or not the logo was standard with the car when I got it, unless the previous owner replaced it (which I highly doubt because they didn't care much for the car) - but I'm pretty sure you would be able to find one either at a breakers' yard or on eBay!
@Chizz12774 жыл бұрын
I did something similar to my mk5 rabbit.. but I removed all of the pieces I was going to wrap. Both turned out the same quality but I’d recommend removing the pieces to make it easier

Bro you should add OEM remote central locking to your car. I did this on my 9N3 by swapping out the comfort control module for the comfort control module of a 2005 Seat Ibiza (same cars underneath as it’s a VW group car) and then programmed a new remote key. The comfort control module is only £30 on eBay 👌🏼
@CarsWithJB6 жыл бұрын
That's a good shout - I'll look into it for sure, was it a difficult job? Love how the parts from the VW group are (generally) interchangeable, so useful. Cheers for watching boss 🤙🏽
@Zeebean3846 жыл бұрын
Cars With JB no worries man! And the hardest part was getting to the module as it’s in the drivers footwell, so it’s a bit of a back breaker! But other than that you just gotta move the transponder over from your key to the new flip key, programme the key to unlock your car and get your key cut! But make sure you get the right part number module though !!

Cut a bit wide from your templates and don't worry about it being clean, then do the cleaner cuts when it's actually stuck down (if that makes any sense!)

I think it would look a lot better if you used a cheap plastic crowbar set and £20 heat gun. In my opinion, I think it's an inexcusably small cost for anyone who wants to decorate their car with vinyl wrap.

GabGas27 very strange - I think it might be something to do with my car's electrics, it has been playing up a little bit ever since I bought it (e.g. The central locking doesn't always work etc)
