My rarest record I have is a old Vogue Picture Disc (78) from 1942 I think, last time I checked in it’s near mint condition it’s worth anywhere from 500-800$ of course it’s really only worth what someone’s willing to pay so I’ve decided to use it for wall art!

Regardless of how rare a record is, the feeling of getting the music you were looking for so long is just priceless.
@tetrahedronboxproductions94434 жыл бұрын
This is true. I dropped $200 (most I've spent on a record, ever) on MxPx's "Slowly Going The Way Of The Buffalo" which only ever saw one vinyl release back in 1998 on release day. I had it on CD as a teenager, and it has some personal, special memoirs attached to it for me. So at my current age of 37, I felt the need to find it on vinyl (because only the music I DEEPLY care about I get on vinyl). It is a prized possession of mine, along with some other vinyl I have purchased ($100+) in the past several months. I am in no way rich, and have fell down the rabbit hole of buying vinyl when I most likely shouldn't LOL The soul is fed, though. Mostly satisfied. :)

I'm not sure about the rarity of this one but it has a lot of sentimental value. One of the records I wanted to get when starting my collection was Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here. Considering that a lot of their albums have been rereleased on new vinyl, I figured it wouldn't be that hard to find. I looked everywhere I could think of but no one had a copy for a good price or at all and I'm kind of against the idea of ebay when it comes to this. I told my dad about this and without a second thought, he walks to his collection he had inherited from his late brother, pulls out an original 1975 pressing (scratch free, just needed cleaning), and hands it to me along with Animals by Pink Floyd and Signals by Rush (which are original pressings as well). I still don't think I've thanked him enough for this.

two albums that seem to be very rare I'd like to own are: Feel the Cold by North Star: only ever found a vinyl on sale on Discogs and it was for 75 euros. Outside of that one LP, never found it on sale anywhere else. On Discogs, 4 people own it and 23 (excluding me) want it. This album was never sold on Discogs, so I don't know what happened to that one LP I once found Bla Vardag by Atlas: more people have it on Discogs (41 own it and 132 want it), but currently there is only one copy on sale and it's for $100 CAD. On Discogs, the lowest price it went for was $78 CAD, the highest $178 CAD and the median is $150 CAD. Again, can't find a copy of the album anywhere else

Damn, I had no idea that Hellbilly was so rare. It is one album that I would love to re-buy on vinyl.

It was just repressed a few months ago, pick it up along with the rest of the Rob Zombie catalog. They did the full run and sounds great!

I have five 78 rpm records. I have no idea how much they're worth, but I love the old ones. My favorite I have is Benny Goodman's version of "A string of pearls"

So I was checking speakers on your recommendation page, to pair with a Audio Technica LP60. I was wondering what your feelings are on the Edifier R1280T set compared to the Micca PB42X set?
@MichaelLevineHair5 жыл бұрын
I have the Edifiers 1280t and it a great pair. I'm looking to upgrade to the s2000 now, but the 1280 sound amazing at the price.

G'Day Vinyl Eyezz! I've wanted to ask since you brought up your rare records in this video. What are ways you can tell that the records one owns are rare/what their value is?
@vinyleyezz6 жыл бұрын
Discogs is probably your best resource. It’ll tell you all the info about your record, the year it was pressed, the country, and other important info. You can also see what other people are charging for that record!
@SGW4K5 жыл бұрын
I agree. Discogs is the way to go. There is also popsike which is ok. With discogs you gotta narrow down the exact copy/ version you have then based on previous sales etc they give you a minimum, median and maximum value. Add you whole collection to your profile and you can easily track values and any changes people make to the entries (eg better pictures, updating misinformation, matrix/ runout info, other identifiers..etc). There is nothing more satisfying than adding a release that is not already there.

So glad that Third Man Records was mentioned, I love Jack White mostly for being in the White Stripes but he’s just a really good artist and knows that vinyl is really good, I would love to visit the shop and possibly get to meet the legend him self

the most expensive record i own is a cantopop record original pressing from 1983 called 《風繼續吹》by leslie cheung, goes upwards to roughly 450 usd in the local market

I know this video is like 2 years old and you probably have more expensive vinyls now but I believe my Supermarket vinyl by Logic is my most expensive one. On discogs the prices range from 600-750. Amazing pick up when it was only $45

I have to take notice of the Jackson 5's ABC album. I think it should be noted that the copy you have is a British pressing. The US pressing uses the standard Motown Map label layout. Tamla Motown is usually designated to European releases. I suspect your copy is a British release judging form the color of the label and the STML prefix on the catalog number.

My rarest record is the sigur ros “in a frozen sea” box set. I was just getting into the band at the time and I saw an expensive looking box set at what looked like a good price, so I went for it. Best decision ever.

My rarest is a 1929 copy of the original 78 of the hit "Singing in the Rain" from the movie "Hollywood Revue of 1929" for only 10 bucks. They sold them only in Loews theaters which you could pick up in the lobby after you watched the movie.

Ariana Grande’s “My Everything” lavender vinyl is out for 180-800$ depending if it’s sealed or open.. it was an urban outfitters exclusive and was extremely limited... okay that’s kinda too much.. it was really limited! after 6 years they finally ree pressed her albums along with my everything. there was a standard black pressing AND a half lavender and half clear web store exclusive. the lavender split was an homage to the rare vinyl AND now that record is rare.. I’m so thankful i have it and hopefully i’ll be able to have the lavender rare vinyl.

At the moment my rarest and most expensive record is Michael Jackson's Invincible album on 180 gram vinyl. Originally it came out in 2001 but mine is a 2009 reissue which came out shortly after MJ died. I bought it still sealed for 75 euros at my nearest local record store. It's not incredibly hard to find but it's not as common as his other albums such as Off The Wall, Thriller, Bad and Dangerous. Invincible (2001) is my second favorite album and in my opinion Michael Jackson's most underrated album. I really think it's a musical masterpiece and needs way more appresiation. My favorite album is HIStory (1995)
