bxbdelights I get where you are coming from but I saw it differently. It's those uncomfortable truths that make for a genuinely funny moment even when it may not have been intended as such. I think he understood on some levels which is why he laughed. We've all had a "that's f'd up, but funny" moment in life. That's what I perceived in that moment.

Thank you for sharing this! Viola is just so incredibly intelligent and powerful. And I agree with her, we NEED more roles like hers where women of PoC aren't confined to a single type of character. I love that her character on HTGAWM is a complex and fully fleshed out person. Also, i dont think tom hanks really got her point about this at the end lol
