Viola is clearly informed and educated about her craft beyond her experience in movies, and you can tell Tom is learning so much from her. She is generous enough to share her knowledge and he is interested in listening to her. I mean, how could you not? She speaks slowly and confidently because she knows what she has to say truly matters. You can tell she loves what she does everyday and she’s proud of her accomplishments. How admirable.
@leilaikusura4904 Жыл бұрын
Oh absolutely and I also think it's beyond the education too. From the many interviews I watch her, Viola has come to a place where she is clear about what her craft is about. She calls it "human whispering". The ability to be truthful about the human experience in each character she plays. Her main concern is to be absolutely honest and truthful to that and even though it's challenging for many reasons, she aims to ensure that that's what she does. It's her authenticity that exudes through, the way she walks and talks is so authentic to her spirit we can't help but love her and learn from her. She is rooted in that. I love that so deeply. These are some of the things I have learned from her.

This is the most insightful, sophisticated and intricate interview of actors I have ever seen (Perhaps, I have been living in a cave). A real moment of both poetic and critical analysis of a much discredited profession. Although it certainly helps that Hanks and Davis are particularly sensitive and educated, I think the concept of creating a platform where two colleagues can dissect and review the core of their work is very productive. Watching this, I have got to really understand and empathize with the subtle mechanisms and impactful micro-decisions that make any performance magnificently succeed, or fail. It was delightful and encouraging to see them respectfully listen to each other, and engage with each other's points, especially considering the overwhelming superficiality and sterility of promotional cinematic content that is otherwise available in the media. This interview helps restore the dignity of the acting profession. It also works to give actors back their due credit as acute and constantly improving people-readers and observers. It recognises their efforts to do justice to the complexity and elusiveness of human emotions. A very impressive discussion. Thanks for sharing.
