Love them or hate them ICP are legends , they def helped build the blue print alot of independent artists are doing today. The came from nothing have built an empire , built a legacy , have stood the test of time and even if you don't like there music at all they put on one of the greatest live shows ever . I'm glad I got to see them live and experience them in there prime . ICP was pushing being different, and making your own lane way before the muble era and dyed hair etc came to fruition. Legends hand down....

Late 90’s - early 2000’s ICP shows were fucking insane. Lots of super small venues with little to no security. Been on stage many times at the end for the faygo Armageddon. Before it was called that. Even crowd surfed on stage. Best show was probably Blaze and Mars opened the show, Twiztid next, the ICP, then they all came together and played as Dark Lotus. The original lineup too. That was a show. Such a crazy night

Man, I remember going to the Gathering YEARS ago. One of the most memorable moments was watching ODB perform (RIP) and his hypeman was this 500lbs looking dude, hyping shit up while sitting down in a fold-up chair. Also was in a smoke circle with Violent J on one of the last nights of the event where we were passing around a glass Steamroller. Crazy shit.

I will always remember seeing a cassette of Carnival of Carnage in a gutter, and two weeks later no joke hearing Offspring smash and that cassette. Imagine in the late or mid 90s have a 100wat' sub on a 2 system for tapes. That's how we bumped it. That's how all the music went after that. No lies.

What's crazy to me about this interview, is that Kev gives him mad props for how ahead their branding and merch game was, asks him multiple times who was driving all that, and was like J didn't even hear it. Touched briefly on it, but would bounce off that talking point into other stuff. Ask him about Drake and the ICP gear, having his name behind whichever podcast dude or whatever, and not once does he think they earned the spot to be there on purpose. It's gotta be an accident. Then, largely unprompted, he just goes in about this dude Ouija and how dope his merch game is and how tight the aesthetics look and etc. It's almost like he's so used to ICP being the butt of jokes and memes outside "the juggalo world," he's literally incapable of accepting that people outside their world could legitimately respect their place in the culture. Either that, or legit one of the most genuinely humble dudes I've ever seen.

If anyone wants to know. The artist that the “ recovering Juggalo “ is working for was Jelly Roll. One of his runners actually worked for Psychopathic , MNE and even Strange at one point. Now he works with Jelly roll who’s violent j clearly has a major issue with too. This shit is too toxic. I feel bad for those Juggalos still stuck in this world. Fuck toxicity

Why do you say J & Jelly have hate? I went to 3 GOTJ in a row when in Illinois like 15 yrs. ago & Jellyroll waa there every year. He was walking around passing out free cds of an album called SNO- a group w/ him & Lil Wyte + another guy I forgot. Anyways it was what put me onto Jellyroll who just got better & better every year since until where he is one of my favorite artists of the last decade.
