Violet Evergarden really starts at episode 4 but the first 3 episodes are really importent for world building and to set up for the rest of the show. please give it it a chance and you will have a rare experience that you never thought you needed.

You need to finish the series!! It is such an "Ugly-crying" show that really anyone with any shred of empathy just starts bawling from the later episodes. Looking back, really the only like....not interesting episode I think was ep 4 when they made it Iris-centric. But I guess they needed to give all the side characters their moment. But seriously though, this show really does gradually pick up on an emotional level.

slice of life animes are not my cup of tea. I like shows like ghost hunt or case closed. mystery and action . I remember vowing to never watch a slice of life anime after watching Clannad and Air. But this was the first alice of life anime with art alone that made me watch it. and I cried soo much but I loved it.

As a combatant vet its so hard to say how much this relates and hits home as to how it was coming back from war it gets harder and harder to watch as it hits more and more I am 100% rated with combat PTSD and I had similar loss during the war. I was hoping you watched al of it as it is very much worth reacting to and watching it all.

I really hope u continue this series! It's such a breathtaking anime in more ways than one. The sound, music, writing and of course the stunning animation it's all so beautiful... Every lock of hair is animated for gods sake! This would be such a breath of fresh air anime vice for the Normies to react to. Don't get me wrong i'm a ho for almost all shounen, but still i hope you give this piece of art a shot, if not on Normies then at the very least in private.

This show is a masterpiece and a must see. It was produced by Kyoto Animation (Kyo-Ani) who was a victim of a terrorist arson attack a year ago, and many artists died as a result. Whenever I watch this, the emotions just swell, not only from the stories, but also from the thoughts of all those dedicated animators who lost their lives.

I love that this show is already bringing up interesting and below surface conversation and I love how you guys are already talking about where you think this show may go. That said, each episode deals with very different and distinct aspects of love and communication and while they all relate, they each evoke even more discussion on their own. There's a lot more that we get to see impact Violet as well as what implication they hold for her. I cannot praise this show enough, please find some time to continue Violet Evergarden if you can. Also, I won't spoil when, but if you continue the show you will definitely get a better look at Iris and why she reacts to Violet in the way that she does.

This anime is extremely delicate and sad, I can say that each episode builds the characters' narrative very well, the beginning is a too slow, but after episode 3 the anime moves forward and a lot, keep watching! PS: NOBODY, EXACTLY NOBODY IS PREPARED FOR EPISODE 10.

Marek Bujok The director for the anime also purposefully chose Yui Ishikawa after seeing her performance in Attack on Titan and thinking that she didn’t really fit her role there and specifically wanted her to voice Violet.
