If it were a slab instead of veneer, the grain and color would look just the same. Saying "Make veneer look that good" is disingenuous. They're making wood look that good.

Tell me you don't know what veneer is without telling me you don't know what veneer is.@@MaddoxMelton Most of the time, veneer looks _better_ than a slab, because makers save the best slabs to make 10 veneers. It's just a matter of ROI to use the best stuff as veneers. From there, bind it or burst it with an opaque ring so you can't eyeball the depth of the slab and voila. Not even a professional woodworker or luthier could tell you if it's a slab or a veneer without destructive testing on the finish. Anybody can make veneer look good, because it's literally the same wood and veneer is deep enough that you can't see what's underneath.

Not taking anything away from the workers, but this has to be the easiest part of building the guitar. It's literally just dipping a rag in stain & wiping the guitar with it. Not really any skill required for this step.

Most of the ones I have seen do not look this purple sadly… too much pink and purple mix and not this saturated. Otherwise I would have one for Xmas. I did buy the Paul’s Guitar in SE form in the Faded Blue color……🥰💙🎸

Yeah, they show a perfectly cut SE. I’ve bought two SE’s and both had moderate QC issues. Never again PRS!
