Absolutely LOVE the Tom of Finland tattoo! As a Finnish person I am oh so very proud of the fact that we have a famous gay-culture icon who is known all around the world and who has had an impact on so many of us in the lgbt-community. I'm so happy and glad to see that his legacy is being kept alive, as it should be. Btw have you seen the recently made movie that tells the story of Touko a.k.a Tom? If you haven't, I strongly recommend it!

I loved hearing about the symbolism behind your tattoos! I have a cicada tattoo as well, and the reason why I chose mine is because of the legend of the cicada, which is found in different cultures around the world. Basically, there are two insects, Ant and Cicada. Ant spends all of its time gathering food while Cicada spends all day living a languid life of singing and relaxing. When winter comes around, Ant has plenty to eat while Cicada starves. The moral of the story is to not waste time on luxuries, but what I got from the story is to live life to the fullest - I mean, who wants to spend the majority of their life toiling away? Cicada is definitely the way to go.
