i think the issue w the friesians is that they are far too reminiscent of the gen 1 horses with triangular heads, abnormally giant lips, and oddly human faces. plus the heads are entirely too small. it definitely feels like a regression from sso models but i can only assume its because the gen 1 friesians were so coveted by dressage clubs and half of the sso demographic in general that they didn't think they could entirely take away the essence of it without major backlash on the model. idk tho i agree its really ugly and needs to be a bit more drafty, roman, and elegant instead of looking like a mr potato head :/

I love your theory on the jorvik friesian relating to the sso demographic and dressage clubs, and the way you explained how they look is so detailed and well-worded. another thing I didn’t even think about was that sso named them “jorvik friesian” purposely instead of just “friesian” so that they could do many colors, but along with that came an interesting style for a friesian 🥴

Actually, this is more of a classic champagne! I own an amber champagne and his sire was a classic champagne and looked a lot like this.

The “potato palomino” in called a flaxen chestnut. I also practiced my dressage test in the riding hall

Genetically no. That is a golden palomino which is a palomino a much richer color and generally a blonde mane. A flaxen chestnut would have to be a lot deeper in color. Sorry to burst in, professional groom here.

I really liked this video! It was one of my favourites and you seemed to enjoy yourself :) I definitely appreciated the end part! I remember my sister's friend, who had several horses on her family's own property, teased me once about playing Star Stable, but when I was younger it was the only access I had to horses of any kind. Even now that I can ride it's still my comfort game ❤️

Violet, I liked what you said about memorizing your dressage sequence in the riding hall. Something similar happened to me. I don’t know anything about equine disciplines irl because I don’t ride, but I took a dressage lesson from a club member, and it was interesting to learn about different dressage moves. So, yes, I do believe you can learn a lot about horses just by playing Star Stable

THANK YOU FOR "People shouldn't be hated on for what they don't know" and how some people on SSO aren't equestrians in real life. It is just so true! I've always had a thing for horses since forever but I've only ridden at a relative house when I visit so I don't have much experience in riding. I actually tHiNk I know a lot about the sport and everything revolving around it but I would always be picked on for not having horses or not taking lessons or competing (not being around horses in general). I'm not as into it now because I'm older but also because I was made fun of so it ruined it for me.
