Thanks for another video. It looks like you're having some beautiful days! It's slowly getting cooler here. Beautiful cedar box! The diamond in the rough sounds great! Good progress on the cello. I bet when you started it seemed like it would take forever. What a mountain of scrapings! Have a great week!

The 'Hebrew Minute' is Psalm 122:6. Too appropriate today. Your 'diamond in the rough' sounds really nice - as does your cello top. Maybe Mel could rent a backhoe and dig a mikveh while the creek is low. Love your cedar storage box. Take care, Stupidicus.

Yes! Hebrew Minute! I’ll check with Mel and see if he can get that done! Yesterday it cooled down real fast to 32*. Hope you have a wonderful week . Thanks for commenting!

So, the Rough Diamond had a final trick up its sleeve, how frustrating that must have been! Still, the excellence of the final result must more than make up for all the pains you have taken. It was such a forlorn little instrument when you started. That's a handsome cedar box you picked up at the auction. Does it still retain its cedar scent? It'll be just the thing for your 'cello clamps.

Yes, the cedar box still retains its scent. I imagine it was closed for a long time. I am so excited for the little rough diamond. Now to figure out a good color of varnish that is not too heavy. Thank you for commenting and I wish you all the best!

Did you make the cedar box? I noticed the finger joints. They make a visual statement as well as being a functional joint. I have made a number of boxes using the finger joints. I cut mine on a table saw using a box joint jig. how did you cut yours?
@Violinsforu2 Жыл бұрын
I didn't make the box but I did get it at an auction and was attracted to it because of the joints! The varnish was all puckered up so I stripped it and revarnished it. It appears to be quite old. We have to see some of those lovely boxes that you have made!!!! Thanks for commenting!

Pray for peace. The sound was worth waiting for. It will get better and better. You put in an amazing amount of effort to rebuild. congratulations on the outcome.

Thank you! It was sure rewarding to hear after all that! Now to figure what color of varnish to put on there. I might only do a couple of coats. Hope you have a wonderful week!
