Some of this probably needs to be staged for legal reasons (pretty sure there's no way you'd be able to legally film conversations about patients on the fly, they'd likely reveal private information and then the footage wouldn't be usable/would have to be edited very awkwardly). But the content of the convos seems pretty genuine. She probably asks the staff to re-do a more "anonymous" version of whatever they discuss.

I know I’m late but this is important ❗️ Most of the things are like recreations, she films when she can and definitely wouldn’t film if it could delay getting a patient help. ❤️ she doesn’t need any hate she gives up a lot of her personal life in order to make sure people are safe! Ty for listening 😌

My biggest question for these videos is HIPAA. Did you have to get permission from administration to film these videos? Edit: Y’all I just wanted to know if she needed permission because while it doesn’t directly violate HIPAA hearsay, some hospitals are very private/strict with filming so it’s interesting to see her give us this much access (I love it). These type of videos are really amazing for prospective med students who want to know what goes on in a daily shift. She worked a 26 hour shift and we only got to see minutes (!!!) Plz don’t say she is neglectful to patients or staff with her filming, that’s not what I meant.
@caseydevaughn18905 жыл бұрын
Sarah she is very careful what she shows and says, NEVER gives out personal information or anything like that. How would it be a HIPAA violation?
@Sarah-jw1ri5 жыл бұрын
Casey Devaughn Yes she does not show any patients or name off any names, but what about vlogging around the hospital? Most places do not like cameras so I am curious. Never said she gave any names or violated. Just wondering if she needed permission to vlog around the hospital and post about it.
@madison19425 жыл бұрын
Runz W Sizzzors she’s in Canada I believe
@mmares11075 жыл бұрын
As long as she is not giving away names or faces, she should be fine. Also yes she probably asked for permission but at the same time this does seem like an educational video that can be easily approved. And for the people that keep complaining that she’s vlogging instead of seeing the patients, please use common sense and see that she’s obviously vlogging while she has free time. She’s not going to make a patient wait. And the hospital wasn’t really busy so another reason why she decided to vlog that day.
@emilyvondohre89625 жыл бұрын
Cedes M but she also wasted pt care time re-filming things for example, she isn’t going to actually vlog a code blue in action

Open Windows III I live in Sydney, Australia so it may be a different protocol that we use. Usually what happens when a patient is unable to advocate for themselves (eg; elderly, critically ill, unresponsive, patient has mental health issues ect) they will see if the patient has any form of ID on them, check if they’ve been a patient before, contact nursing home, contact family/friends, see if the police can be of assistance. If all that doesn’t lead to anything and doctors have a critically ill patient they will then do what is needed medically to help them. I hope my answer helped!

This drives me nuts too. At first it was just on very obvious downtime but now there’s more and more scripted parts and it’s involving other staff; which means Canadians are essentially paying for the production of KZbin videos. As much as it is educational, I think there’s a way to do it so that it’s clearly (to the viewer) not interfering. Even jumping on the vlog between getting a page and answering it - imagine being that patient?
@sbjorlond84655 жыл бұрын
A question I myself asked as an attending physician. Even time spent scripting it seems. As a 2nd year resident there is never this much time, especially considering you spend so much time trying to figure out answers. Most residents even into their 3rd year don't know a damn thing and attendings/fellows spend time teaching or cleaning up the mess.
@melb5055 жыл бұрын
Real Creation totally agree, I just wonder how much time it takes to actually plan and execute those conversations. I don’t actually think she’s taking any time away from patients, I just think that’s the impression it gives and I always wonder what everyone around her thinks.

I was born 25 weeks early and had bronchitis twice and open heart surgery and major things like that etc.... and was an out patient from six years old and had chronic constipation but was referred back at 11 years old and my doctor had stayed 2 hours after his 26 hour shift just to see me since he’s been my doctor since I was born.... so me and my grandma bought him some chocolates on my next visit 😁

I work in ICU as Housekeeping but not very frequently. there's a lot of equipment and patients can be hooked up to tubes and lines. It would look intimidating and distressing. some of them are better than they look, some are worse. You are seeing them on their wrost times in their life. Just dont touch the equipment unless there's a nurse with you telling what to do (not likely you would ever have to touch the functioning equipment for any reason). always ask if your unsure of anything (I have to sometimes and staff in ICU i work at always are great with questions). The ICU is usually relaxed when i work. Codes have broken out in The ICU when i worked on it, but theres no Chaos and people running and yelling, the nurses and doctors just attend to it, need to get out the way when it happens (I didnt really know it occured until i overheard so and so bed was coding right then). I like the ICU and the ER as well, can be busy but also relaxed at times.
