I did this last summer, no lenses also lowers par by more than 50%, I was shocked. I love my vipar's I took them out of the housing and ditched the fan.. Nice vid!

Question, did having the lights so close burn up some corals? I bought these and ran them at 100 percent blues on a 150 mounted about 10 inches above the water. Needless to say my corals did NOT like it. What are your settings?

I run it at 10%, both blues and whites.

Do you know if you lost PAR. Leaving the lights at the same height and with all the lenses removed. As compared to the original lenses . ?

I do not have a PAR meter to test with, so I can't be certain. Sorry.
