That centrifugal force aspect is the reason why on certain parts of brands hatch I lose grip, this hit home for me. I don 't feel that in my force feedback wheel. Probably in real racing it is easier to find this reason because you can feel your cars get lifted after coming across a top of hill

You are welcome. Just one thing I forgot to say in the first post: The relation with curbs is way more complex than you said... it's more about the car's suspension that this weight itself. Stiffen suspensions and/or with short hide (commonly in low height cars) are proportionally more sensitive to curbs. The car's toe in and camber also have influence in curbs behavior... as the springs sets too. The weight is also influential, but more in a relation with the car's setting. Even in default settings there are some cars with similar weights that behave very diferent with curbs... and, for the last, depends a lot of what curbs are you talking about. Cheers!

You can make a higher cornering speed if you manage to make one side of your car run over the inside curb if the curb is kinda rough and gives a bit of resistance on your tires. Let's say for example: left turn corner. You can make the left turn at a higher speed when your left tyres run over the left curb than when none of your tyres run over the left curb. (provided the curb got some resistance)

That last tip is no joke lol. Especially in high HP cars 😅. Sometimes I’ll try and overtake another car and upon approaching a turn after a decent straight I’ll either end up slowing down too early in fear of braking too late or usual lol….. overshooting the turn completely causing me to lose multiple positions if I was toward the head of the pact. But with time & practice, mainly practice, you learn your braking points, you can literally feel when your tires heave reached their peak temp (if you’re using a decent steering wheel) which improved traction, thus also shortening braking points lengths, improving exit times even further!

I love your videos, they helped me a lot. But I still have difficulties braking before corners, especially after a long straight (like the chicanes in Monza). Which is the correct way (without heel-toe, 'cause this is still advanced to me)? Brake, clutch, gear, release clutch, release brake, then brake again, clutch again, gear again untill the right gear?
@japotak997 жыл бұрын
Renan Gonçalves Flores If you would heel toe, then you would learn how to do the shifts and not have to lift off the brakes so you could carry more speed into corner
@ricardoboaventura90465 жыл бұрын
If you are not going to heel and toe then you should keep the brake pedal under constant pressure and only release part of the clutch as you go down the gears (only enough to let the engine brake kick in). Bear in mind that this will produce bursts of deceleration every time you release the clutch so try to do it in as much a straight line as possible or you might spin. Hope it helps.

hey how do i create oversteer before a corner ? i always end up locking front wheels by braking and turning at the same time....
@viperconcept8 жыл бұрын
Do you mean the "lift-off"? I explain that in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o6mVc4Kkf5yBqc0
@Le_Tatus8 жыл бұрын
***** i watched the video again and you show it but don't explain how to do it am i supposed to steer violently to create liftoff?
@viperconcept8 жыл бұрын
Arthur Pelier Exactly. When you brake, the front wheels have almost all the weight and the grip of your car. A little, quick hit of your steering *while braking* and the rear wheels will start to slide. If you press the throttle in a FF car while doing the lift-off, you'll stop the lift-off. If you press the throttle in a FR car while doing the lift-off, you'll extend the oversteer, and you'll continue until the end of the corner with a powerslide, but be careful with powerful cars!
@Le_Tatus8 жыл бұрын
+viperconcept i just cant manage to get the right amount of throttle while exiting corners with powerful cars but thx anyway for lift off tips ^^

viperconcept how do you turn on the engine?
@-_Nuke_- Жыл бұрын
The KEY to every corner is to try and put your front wheel ON apex of the corner. Every corner has an apex - you have to slow the car as much as it needs - in order to hit that apex - and by hit it, I LITERALLY mean, to place your wheel very close to it or even better on top of it. That is the correct way to take a corner or at least - a simple way to understand what you need to do. What MOST people do wrong in racing, is that they focous on the opponent when they should be focusing on the road instead.
@diydaveman5 жыл бұрын
I'm a newbie but have realized that it doesn't matter the corner cause I always take it too fast and spin out but if I know/memorize the track I run better and faster. I like the info of knowing what is after the corner but if you have never driven the track you don't know what is after the corner unless you've driven it before and even then I have to drive it several times to remember which corner is which and only then I can take it at as full speed as possible. Great Info!
@kaihocompany5 жыл бұрын
That's why they always say to look through the corner. That means that you don't look at the apex of the corner that you're currently taking but you look at the spot where you want you car to be when you exit the corner. I find this way makes you a much more natural driver and it's much easier to understand when you're going too fast into the corner.
@gabrielito8767 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your videos viper! The problem that I have is spinning after pulling the accelerator to hard after slow curves. Don't know what's the best way to solve that. I really need to improve at turning in games. For me there are usually 4 scenarios 1: I go too fast,start braking and eventually hit a wall with side of my car.Then leave the corner with a huge speed loss.If there is no wall or strong fence i am fucked since i will get out of the track and lose control. 2: I will do the same thing as before,but I hit the fence with front or rear and completelly lose control and possition. 3: I hit the car ahead of me while in turn smashing it away and so effectivelly dealing with the corner and other racer aswell. 4: I start slowing down and leave the turn without any kind of crash,but usually with bigger speed loss than AI racers.
