@@Honeyluvflwer Are we really still saying "not all men" in 2024? Like, obviously everyone knows that. Saying it is pedantic and just detracts from a serious discussion about the rampant epidemic of violence against women. The men who aren't misogynists know this conversation doesn't apply to them and don't feel insecure and offended, and certainly don't need you to keep white-knighting for them. Your interjection isn't helpful or relevant. Step up or move on.

As soon as she started calling it a “fight” I had a feeling the girl who got assaulted was a dark skin woman or darker than the rest. We need her side of the story. Cause best believe if my friend gets punched I’m jumping on backs and scratching eyes out. Or if any girl im out with gets assaulted, if she defended me then I’m defending her.

This reminds me of something that happened to me on a train in Seattle. I was like 22 and was with my 12 yo sister. We were being HARASSED by a homeless man. A grown ass 50-60 year old man WAITED until the homeless man left to come up to me and say, “hey, uh, you know you can ask him to stop…like, you should have spoken up for yourself.” A coward if I ever seen one! Waiting until the coast is clear to go out of his way to tell two young girls to defend themselves against another man. I was appalled. I hope he’s ashamed of himself to this day!

No. She’s trash. I was graped my freshman year of college at my “bf’s” birthday party by a guy that was introduced to me by our other “bf.” Without going into the whole story, they left me. They saw him harassing and assaulting me and THEY LEFT ME. I was in denial about whether they did it on purpose for a long time but eventually I had to come to grips with the fact that they were wrong, weren’t my real friends, and he was ass wrong too. I had to transfer colleges and everything after that incident bc the whole school knew bc the police didn’t go pick him up immediately, so it just turned into this big joke that he’d “almost caught a grape” charge. They would go out to dinner in large groups and just have a big laugh about the whole thing. As years passed, my “friends” abandoned and annihilated me. This is after I was ALWAYS the friend to stick up for them all the way back to hs. So, they knew me for 5 years at this point, made me the God Mother to each of their children, and still left. Baby, friendship ptsd is a real thing. This girl in the video is trash. I’m glad she shared this story so the women around her can move accordingly. I promise I wish I knew how my “friends” were before that night. If only smh

@@neoloanderson6676 Thank you so much. 💜 It did break me at that time. It completely changed the trajectory of my life. I went on a long healing journey and honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever be completely healed from everything I experienced through that situation. What he did to me, how they left me, how the police literally laughed in my face when my parents took me to report it, how everyone around him saw nothing wrong with what he did & even assisted him in trying to bribe me to drop the charges once he was finally arrested…. It was definitely a multidimensionally traumatic experience that taught me so much. One of the biggest lessons that I learned was that everyone who calls themselves a friend is NOT your friend. Pay attention to how people move even when they’re dealing with others. It’ll tell you a lot. I think it’s one of the reasons why I moved solo for years after that. Like, I trust myself before I trust others. I do have true friends but they were in my hometown and I was in Atlanta at the time. People always used to say, “Damn Elle, you always by yourself,” when I’d make moves. I think that’s why. I truly do.

I’m confused on what skin tone has to do with anything. Y’all be saying anything. It’s simple, this girl was a coward and there’s always that one friend who’s brave and with the craziness and extremely loyal and protective of her girls. I’m light skin and have and will always stand up for those being harassed hurt or attacked even if that means I’m attacked. It’s a mindset thing not a skin color thing. When y’all say stuff like this it’s as if you’re saying dark skin women are more aggressive and violent and that’s not true. Her friend was just being loyal and that should never change she just need better friends. I have very dainty friends who know how to defend themselves. That’s a must to be friends with me and should be a must overall. We act like ladies but can mix it up if we’re in a situation requiring us to have to be violent. I would’ve jumped in so fast, found a weapon anything to get that man off of her. I watched a video of a girl get jumped and a random white girl came and helped her. We gotta get past this low vibrational thinking they have us trapped in.

Eloho, You took the words right out of my mouth. I immediately thought the victim is of darker complexion, physically looks different than the majority of the group. Has a different background than the fake friend group. Or has a unique personality that deviates from the group. Additionally, the friend group probably views the victim’s kindness towards them as a weakness. The group COLLECTIVELY choosing to not protect or assist the victim while the attack occurred should be alarming to the victim. Lastly, I was apart of a friend group that would have done the same. I suggest the victim to heal from the inside out. Have the needed closure conversations with the fake friends she thought were her friends. A group of girls could take on one man. I would’ve froze in shock initially but then looking for a weapon. Even with social media people can find out personal info and know who your friends are. Her friend getting brutally beaten isn’t the main part of the city?? The message should’ve been walk away and call the police. She didn’t make herself look better in the follow up video.

I just told this story in the comments section, but when I was a teenager I was part of a large friend group that broke into different smaller friend groups within the group that were more closer, but all in all we were all acquaintances with the people part of the group we weren't close and we'd hang out in a big group for events and stuff or at lunch. Within that group there were 3 girls who were close together and I assumed they were bff's within each other. So one day we're walking home in the dark late evening after a birthday party as a big group. Then some creepy male stranger comes off onto us. And I watch as the 3 girls who I thoughts considered themselves bff's sprint forward away from this man in a panicked matter, scattering like chickens. breaking off from each other - one stayed in one direction while the other 2 ran across the road to the other side of the road. I was completely shocked. This man wasn't even that that tall and big. And this isn't US where g#ns are more common. You'd think they'd stay together and stand their ground or something or at the very least stay together as a group bc I was in that moment feeling very confident bc we were walking as a group of 6-8 teenagers. As a group we can easily take down one man. Everyone knows how numbers work. And yet here they were - even within their own circle of what I thought was close friends (like if they weren't close to others in our friend group or gave a fvck about them I thought they at least were close to each other. But they went and abandoned their supposed bff in a time of danger and left them completely vulnerable bc it's far easier to abdct a child when they're separated from the group than when they're together. My friend group had some problems years before that with just casual b*lying of the members (they threw one of the girl's shoes a top of lockers while another one stole my flats and stretched them out by wearing them since shes bigger shoe size.) So they were toxic. I never thought they'd act shtty even within themselves that they claimed as a bff. Was a wakeup call that day to how toxic certain members were. Luckily I wasn't close or friends with the toxic members and of course after the b*lying incident I stopped hanging with the group at lunch. It's amazing how some people don't have common sense be it in danger or not. Like protect your friends during danger don't just ditch them, leaving them completely vulnerable. Idk how people can be so unprepared for stranger danger situations.

Chile, I was in a similar incident. When I was younger, my ex-boyfriend fought me in front of a GROUP of both his friends and mine. EVERYONE stood back and watched!!! Smh!!! Fast forward a few years, my cousin, one of the ones who watched me on that day, got into an altercation at a club. I had just had my wisdom teeth pulled a few days prior and had NO business being out, but I went. A guy who I thought was a random walked up to ger, I was a few people behind, so I couldn't hear what was being said. Suddenly, I saw him pull her braids! I pushed past EVERYBODY and jumped on his back and started beating him in his head! Period! Not knowing that he was known in them streets, so he traveled with body guards, one of whom punched me off his back and sent me FLYING in the air! Smh! I would later find out that she was dating him. Point of the story is, I will DEFEND my friends and family, sadly, not everyone will defend YOU! Choose wisely who you hang around. I pray that this is a learning lesson to that girl to get a new friend group.

Back in highschool, I actually had a “ friend” like her who set me up to get jumped by my brother’s bullies after I said that my brother’s bullies should be held accountable by the school. Fortunately my family and friends were there when she set me up and they quickly jumped in between me and my brother’s bullies and grabbed me. I knew it was her who set me up because she spoke to them right before they started walking toward me to jump me. I had a feeling that if I did get jumped, she would just stand there and watch. Also one of my brothers bullies was mad that I said I wasn’t interested in him romantically when he asked for my number and he even spread false rumors about me ( he asked me out before he started bullying my brother ) so I definitely believe that’s a part of the reason he tried to harm me. The school ended up doing NOTHING about it and we had to take it to court! I became so angry at what happened that when he was alone, I pulled a knife on him until he begged me to not hurt him because it was his birthday. When I first saw that TikTok video, it really triggered me because it brought back memories of being betrayed by my ex friend. Now I’m in a better headspace. Also if I was her friend, I would have cursed her out and we would no longer be friends anymore.

Ironically her warning about terrible men turned into lessons about terrible “friends” What I got was match the energy of a situation. If the girl being catcalled wasn’t even in a physical “fight” with the guy and wasn’t willing to go there, I’m not about to put my life in danger and start windmilling on her behalf, while everyone stands by, because look what can happen. It seemed like the situation could have been deescalated if they had collectively been on the same page, like either all of them ignore him or all of them attack but you can’t have one person doing all the work. I can tell the girl who got hurt is a huge empath. I used to be that way too, but you have to save that energy for people who truly care about you or people who are completely helpless like children. Was this guy the incredible hulk? It wasn’t just the 2 girls, it was a group. They could have locked arms and got out together. There is no way this guy would have been able to beat up a group of 3,4,5 women to the extent he did the 1 girl, by then, the police would have caught him.

Not even ten minutes later he was pushing her around and pulling her hair and school safety had to break it up. Women be careful of friends like this…you can tell if they are this kind of friend if whenever you get into with someone do they defend you or do they try to find excuses as to why it’s probably your fault

If you can sit by and watch your "friend" get attacked. That is simply not your friend. This is why I believe you should pray for true friends. It's unfortunate that many times something bad has to happen for people to realize how fake or superficial their friendships are.

This story is triggering because something similar happened to me and my friends outside a club just a few months ago. A man punched my 4’11 friend for no reason and guess what our group of 5 did….. JUMP HIM. Mind you, none of us have ever fought in our lives! He managed to punch out 3/5 of us but he also went home missing a patch of hair and with sore 🍒. At that moment anything that happened to one was going to happen to ALL. This is how real friends move. We filed a police report and of course, he was never found 🙄. As traumatizing as it was though, it would’ve been much worse if we didn’t have each other. Only thing I regret is having to pay for my jaw to get X-Rayed 😭

Nah, he would have been lumped up messing around with my group of friends. This is why I really vet my friends and keep my circle small. None of her friends tried to defend her either. A shame.

I had a "friend" watch me get mugged in Milan as we were trying to enter our hostel. She stood there with her hands up while I was screaming for help. Said she was just shocked. I never looked at her the same again.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is what we call…. A Frienemy! I also have a feeling that this friend who put her life in danger was of a “richer hue,” and the monster who attacked her was of the same complexion and was angered by the self hatred he had for her, and also being rejected by his preference.
