I love how people know nothing of the caucasian shepherd 😂 caucasians can easily be over 200 pounds, the max weight for males is about 200 to 220. My caucasian puppy is only a year and a half is 165. Big breeds take up to 3 years to reach their max size, and caucasian shepherds are also named the Russian bear dog because they were bred to take down bears a wolf is nothing. Also wolf's bite is also only around 406 psi, 1200 psi is just a rumor and has not nor probably will ever be officially documented. Grey wolves also do not weigh 180 pounds they get around 145 and they would need to be, you can't really be almost 200 pounds and be able to run very far, thats why the caucasian doesn't have much stamina. Dogs have been bred for thousands of years to kill wolves obviously they would be built for it.

I was thinking the same. Wolves aren’t 180lbs..From my Google search, it looks like females are around 70-80 lbs and males up to 100 lbs. Some freak specimens can get up to 145..The biggest ever caught was 175 lbs.

People must remember, the Caucasus mountain dog is a wild dog bred in the Soviet union for the hunting bears 100 years ago. There are multiple subspecies (genetic lines) being called "caucasian" Shepherds. Most of them are not bear killers. However there are some old-world breeds around still that would have no issue with a grey wolf. would the average caucasian shepherd kill an average grey would, probably on occasion but not the majority of cases. I think a well bred Kengal or Caucasian would have a 50/50 but it's important to remember wolf's never hunt alone. So make sure your dog has backup

Domestic dogs vary, you can go against a chihuahua or irish wolfhound, there are wild dogs also. Wild wolves vary as well, but less extreme and wolves can be domesticated too. In reality most dogs are more agressive than wolves, and dogs have killed more humans than wolves have by far. Wolves tend to avoid humans.

Hardly perfect, most dogs can match it easily, no grey wolf has ever been recorded larger than 175lbs or have a bite force stronger than 700 psi, kangals have a bite force of 700 psi, largest dog ever recorded stood at 343lbs, 7 foot 3 inches long and 37 inches shoulder height. Many dog breeds have stronger sense of smell and tracking ability that exceeds wolves, an average greyhound exceeds speed of 40-45 mph, wolves can only do 40mph on short burst, even then Irish wolfhounds which on average are already bigger than even the largest possible size for a grey wolf, runs at a top speed of 40 mph. The perfect predator goes to the bears or tiger/lion, an adult single bear can hunt an adult moose, it'd take a pack of wolves to achieve anything similar, a pack of lions can hunt a giraffe or elephant, even then both bears and lions/tigers are stronger, heavier, faster, more durable, more intelligent and have a much stronger biting force than wolves.

A grey wolf takes down prey more than double its size. No dog can best a wolf, in anything, but most importantly, a fight with a wolf might be a dog's last, cause you know that wolf is going for the kill asap.

This video is incorrect, grey wolves never go above 160lbs, a 150lbs grey wolf is already way above the average weight, the largest wolf ever recorded was 175lbs, and on average the grey wolf is about the same size as an average caucasian shepherd, a grey wolf at 33 inch shoulder height has never been recorded, max is 32 inches. Even the bite force is wrong, a grey wolf bite has never been measured to be over 700 psi, theoretically biologists believes a wolf can bite around 800-1200 psi but that has never been proven, considering a spotted hyena averages at 1100 psi, dogs originated from wolves, so their bite force is more similar, and a kangal dog has a average bite force of 700 psi.

Why do people over look this. Wolfs fighting in a 1v1 are so much more different a single wolf would likely lose actually. All the dog has to do is play defensive and actually bigger in size a pin and a few good bites and the wolf is definitely dead.
