I really appreciate your video series on the Elantra. I have a 2016 Elantra limited and every time I previously had run into an issue because I’d overlooked something (or was just clueless from the start!) your videos have solved my problem. Now I don’t wait for issues, if you have a video for my application, I’ll watch your video first and avoid the headaches. Very clear, methodical and thorough from the tools you need to the steps throughout the entire process- All instructional videos should use this format! Thank you and best of luck to you in all your endeavors!

Do u check the oil when the car is on or off and also warm or cold meaning the car like when it's cold u turn it on and wait till its warm right? So oil check car on and warm or off and cold or on and cold or warm after driving but of. Sorry I just wanna do it right
@VirarAutomotive21 күн бұрын
Always check the oil when the car is off. Engine is off. Ideally when you check the oil, the engine should be warm, but even if you check it when the engine is cold, it won't make a big difference to the level on the dipstick. Good luck.

Now older vehicles had transmissions where you could check the fluid. There used to be a dipstick, to check condition of oil and replace it when it went bad. Newer vehicles, like the 2011-2016 Hyundai Elantra and the 2017-2018 Hyundai Elantra, have transmissions which are filled with transmission fluid that has a very long life. This transmission fluid is supposed to last the life of the vehicle. However, if you are going to keep the car for a long time, I suggest you drain and refill new fluid every 160,000 kms. On the bottom of the transmission there should be a drain plug and fill plug to put the new fluid. Hopefully this helps! 😁

I have around 52k miles on my car. I don't know if it's the right time to do transmission fluid change but I do a lot of city driving. Would you recommend it?
@VirarAutomotive3 жыл бұрын
I personally think it is a little early for a transmission fluid change as that vehicle is rated for 'lifetime' fluid service life. However, since your driving is predominantly in the city, you may get a transmission flush at 60k miles. That way its just an easier number to remember the service mileage for records.

This was an automatic vehicle, so I couldn't talk about the clutch fluid reservoir. However, I checked the owners manual and the clutch reservoir and brake reservoir are the same for this vehicle. Mechanics don't check for the fluid either. However there is a way for you flush the old fluid and refill with new fluid. Some mechanics and often quick lube shops try to sell it to you even when you don't need the fluid flush to make quick money 💰

There is no quick way to check the transmission fluid. No dipstick. The transmission is 'sealed'. However there is a way to drain and refill transmission fluid if you choose to get that done. The car has to be on a hoist to drain and refill the transmission fluid.

When I try to top off the brake fluid, it just overflows instead of filling up the reservoir. The fluid is right at the minimum line, so why is this happening?? Please Help😫 (Great video btw!💯)
@VirarAutomotive3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. That just sounds odd. Just to be sure, could you confirm that the fluid was at minimum level and when you opened up the reservoir you couldn't see anything in there? Just to note it doesn't take a lot of fluid to top off the brake fluid reservoir. Maybe just 40-50 ml of fluid and that's about it
@dreamcometrue67083 жыл бұрын
@@VirarAutomotive Yes, brake fluid is at the minimum line. As soon as I started pouring, it started to overflow. I thought maybe the red piece (filter) needed to be removed in order to allow it to go down. I couldn’t get it off and didn’t want to force it, so I sopped up the stagnant fluid with some paper towels and put the cap back on. Not sure what to do. I was trying to avoid a trip to the mechanic for something that I could do myself, but I may have to end up finding one to help me.😕Thank you for responding!
