Unfortunately I just discovered this fantastic drummer due to the recent death of my biggest musical inspiration , Allan Holdsworth. I thought i've seen all the drummer gods now there's Virgel ! I just purchased everything I could find on Amazon. Holy shit what an unbelievable drummer! All my drummer heros are heard in Virgil's playing ....Amazing ! Now i'm off looking up Anthony Crawford music... What a monster player ! I'm mad I was unaware of these gifts from god awesome musicians ! !! Unreal !!! Reply

Had Virgil Donati gotten the Dream Theater gig, who knows whether the world would've been w/out In This Life, The Dawn of Time, and Ruination. The world being better off with these amazing solo projects owes a debt of gratitude to Virgil Donati that the strength of his musicianship, composing, and arranging by which he had confidence to be creative during the DT audition and butt heads with the 'alpha' members of DT lost him the gig.
