I had ACL reconstruction just 3 weeks ago and like the man says, the realisation that you've suddenly gone from very active (climber, mountaineer, cyclist, runner) to doing nothing is tough... and then finding out post-op that you still can't do much for 12 weeks until the graft is strong and ready... it's frustrating and hard to take but it's inspirational to see how our heroes share the same difficulties and how resilience gets them and us through. Hope to do a stadium tour in October and then watch a game from the Sir Kenny stand so I can witness in person his recovery and the benefits of resilience :)

Wish you all the best with your recovery. I've had a string of injuries for over a year now that have kept me from running my usual 13K every second night. I just did my first 3K run the other day. Tiny steps, but positive mindset is definitely key.

@@MrBrownii13 very good actually. Had surgery 8 months ago now. I am back running and training for soccer. Lost quite a bit of muscle in my quad and hamstring but slowly building it back up. Still not 100% and won't be for a while I think. But feeling so much better.

Best defender I have ever seen. And I know people throw things like that around about all the big players of the day. But with VVD it's absolutely true. He has absolutely everything. The way he calmly deals with every situation thrown his way and 99 times out of 100 comes out on top with class and elegance is an absolute joy to watch. I've watched him deal with 2 v 1 situations on several occasions and there's not a moment where you think he's not got it under control. That is amazing. Astounding. He's the only defender who I have consistently looked forward to watching in a game more than any striker or attacker. He is the best. Makes the game look ridiculously easy.
