I sadly knew that they were retiring the 747's and was going to replace them with the 787's and the 350's. It doesn't surprise me that they retired them now instead of the date they originally had. I had flown on this aircraft and they were amazing. The aircraft itself was amazing and I enjoyed it. I know a lot of airlines are hurting right now and I hope things go back to normal or what they call "the new normal". I hope they and other airlines make it through. Awesome video of this airline with their 747's. It's sad that a lot more 747's are gone. British Airways has a date to retire them by 2024. Another airline said that they're retiring their 747-400 but not the 747-8. This aircraft is a beauty and I am happy that I got a chance to fly on a 747 with this airline. I really love this video, thank you.

Feel strange never seeing any Virgin plane with 4 engines anymore A340s or B747s. Having gone on 747s with other airlines before my wish was to fly in 2007 from Heathrow to Los Angeles on Virgin B747-400 as booked and return on A340 600 but later the aircraft was changed to A340 600 going as well even though no complaints. However I did at least get the chance in 2012 on a Virgin B747-400 to and from Las Vegas

I flew on one once from Manchester to Orlando, was on the upper deck. It was the best experience of my live. It’s such a shame they are retiring these queens but unfortunately the time has come. Hopefully new jumbo jets will be designed in the future but I don’t think that is likely. It makes me sad really, it’s like an end of an era. Especially to know these beautiful planes will just be torn to peices and scrapped 😥

They did have order once for A380 but was cancelled. I suppose they can still use A330 A350 or B787.

I personally prefer the A380 and the 747, but now there is no 747, I flew BA A380 and I loved it, it's cool to fly on, Virgin Atlantic needs A380 especiallt going on long flights like the caribbean and united states or africa or india or australia.
