Water is life man. Good call for sure. I'm so pumped for fall hikes in the woods. We went out to the woods trail near our place this Sunday and it was great. The air was so fresh. Cheers brother.

The triple Crown area has been on our radar for some time - the water issue is kind of important. Understand your decision! Keep making memories & adventure on! ~Karen & Shannon WOY

It is an awesome loop! We'll tackle it again soon. It'll be cooler and hopefully some rain will improve the water situation. Thanks for the comment! Be safe!

Sounds like you need one of those nature straws. Good to go as long as there's a creek, puddle, or lake nearby. :)

Oh, I have a Sawyer Squeeze water filter in the pack at all times, but I have to have a water source to use it. I could've got a drink, but I needed to know there were water sources for the remaining 15 miles we planned to hike.

You guys have some great trails over there.. Last trip I was in Aspen and we had the pleasure of hiking a few of the best in the USA.. But up there you need to make sure you have water.. It sneaks up on you.

Hey JJ! Thanks for stopping in! Yeah, we have some awesome spots here and like you say, water is so important. I'm sure you know that first hand from all the desert adventures you have in Australia!

Glad you two tapped out - dehydration is a serious danger. There will be more trips. Better safe than sorry. Love the tortoise eating a mushroom 🍄 🐢

no water = no fun. Summer backpacking can be so tough when water sources are drying up. I have had this happen to me so many times. Luckily I have had trail angels in locations or found water right before I was considering leaving the trail. There is a water source right before you go over to north mountain. There is a creek and you have to cross a bridge to get over it Also the shelter closest to Tinker Cliffs Andy Lane usually has water when the other 2 do not. Sorry that happened to you both. The trail will always be there, better take care of you and get back out there another day. ~RVA~

I knew there was water in those locations, but I was down to 1/2 a bottle and didn't want to make that hike without more. No biggie, we had a fun day and put in some hard miles anyway! Still love it, not regrets! Be safe!

Tapping out is not shameful. Pushing on and having to get rescued...that is shameful. The most important park of hiking is knowing your limits and being man enough to turn around.
