Virtua Cop (Arcade) - No Damage - 9,999,999

A no-damage playthrough of Sega AM2's classic gun game Virtua Cop, scoring the maximum number of points possible (9,999,999). Played using a GUN4IR light gun with no crosshairs, default settings, using the Sega Model 2 emulator.
Released in 1994, Virtua Cop is historic in that it's the first light gun game with 3D polygons. You play as Rage and Smarty, the Virtua Cops, who must fight crime and restore order to Virtua City.

Virtua Cop's gameplay is simple. Crosshairs appear around gun-wielding enemies, indicating how much time you have to shoot them before they shoot you. Hostages often appear; shooting them costs a life.
Most enemies can be shot 3 times max for increasing points. If you shoot the gun out of their hands, you get a "Nice Bullseye" award of 5,000. In Virtua Cop 2 and 3, this was renamed to "Justice Shot".
All these points are applied to a score multiplier. The multiplier starts at 1X, and increases by 1X every time you fill a meter by shooting enemies, to a max of 9X. However, if you lose a life, the multiplier decreases by 2X!
The score counter stops at 9,999,999 points. When you reach this value, it is said that you "counterstopped" the game. The strategy is to lose as few lives as possible (ideally none), max the multiplier at 9X, and then earn as many Justice Shots as possible. The highest Justice Shot value is 45,000 (9 x 5,000).
Virtua Cop is pretty balanced and fun. I generally recommend this game for people who are new to light gun games. With practice, it shouldn't take long to 1CC (1 credit clear/no death) the game. You can play the game safe just by shooting each enemy once. A "no damage" run is a bit trickier, but can be done.
