It's funny and also sad to think that the 1998/1999 Dreamcast port looks and sounds worse than the Original 1996 game, not many people outside of Japan got to experience this game on it's original form back when it came out.
@orlanzo26216 жыл бұрын
Yea as someone who LOVED this game in arcades back in 1996/1997 and wanted a home port so bad I was excited for the DC port in 1999 but man was I disappointed. I think it would have turned out a lot better if Sega had handled the port themselves instead of letting Genki do it. What we got was a rushed half assed port of an amazing game. Till this day this game has never received a proper home port. A shame.
@thesch28676 жыл бұрын
the legend Well AM2 was too busy making Shenmue and a VF3 Saturn port which got cancelled (there are rumors about it being completed) so that's why genki had to make the port also SEGA rushed them to have the game ready for the DC JP release the port was literally made in 7 months. It's a shame games as important to the series as VF1 and VF3tb never got good ports. At least Model3 emulation is improving a lot with the newer versions of Supermodel.

S.C.H 2.8 Yea I actually play it on supermodel all the time, I can’t wait until it’s 100% perfect on there. There are still some graphical issues with VF3 here and there (like in the video) but it’s definitely improving every release, some games are 100% perfect.

VF3 is my favourite of the series, I always remember seeing it first on the tv in the UK, we had a show called GamesMaster and a whole show was dedicated to it with one Japanese guy beating 100 UK players, I fell in love with the game then and there, many consider it the black sheep of the series but in my opinion it's the best, the inclusion of the dodge function and getting rid of the traditional square rings in favour of more tactical play like fighting on roof tops, up and down stairs and fighting in snowy weather this all makes this the best version of Virtua Fighter. So glad we have this on Super Model 3 Emulator the game runs as sweet as nut and special thanks to the developers because its a stellar emulator and the best I've seen in a while especially considering its in beta, you realise how cut-down the dreamcast version was when you see and play the arcade at home, awsome game.

Certainly, Tekken 3 is a marvel for the PSX, but it's also true that the console limited the game's graphical quality. Virtua Fighter 3 debuted on the Model 3 board, which was the most advanced arcade board in the world at the time. Tekken 3 ran on a System 12 board, which was significantly inferior to Sega's board. However, and as I said before, it's impressive how well they squeezed every ounce of performance out of it. All things considered, a direct and unvarnished comparison of the graphics shows that Virtua Fighter 3 easily beats Tekken 3.
