The balance update is already on PS4/5, but it doesn't feature rollback netcode.

I play both. Brad is definitely more beginner friendly, and a good choice for new players. Akira is a lot of work, so it's not a bad idea to focus on Brad at first, and keep working on Akira until you're ready to cook.

They keep saying he's a kickboxer, but his moveset screams Muay Thai. What's up with that?

It's kinda melded together; Muay Thai is just kickboxing at its core.

His strings have lots of bobbing and weaving that come from kickboxing. Muay Thai movement is much more contained.

The only difference nowadays is that Muay Thai and Kickboxing are sports that share similar techniques but have different rulesets. Elbows, catching kicks, and clinch are usually either illegal or limited in Kickboxing. At the same time, Kickboxing and Muay Thai are sometimes used as umbrella terms amongst fighters for striking dominant sports that allow you to strike with your arms and legs. So, the definition of Muay Thai and Kickboxing is not a very clear one even today. But in this case, I would argue that Muay Thai would be the correct term. The term "kickboxing" would not exist without Muay Thai. Brad's head movements do imply a more Kickboxing centric style but you could argue his long guard stance is very common in Muay Thai. Considering VF is a Japanese game, it's not surprising that they would refer to his style as "Kickboxing." I've heard the term Kickboxing was coined by Kenji Kurosaki, who adapted Karate with more Boxing and Muay Thai elements, after seeing numerous Japanese Karate fighters lose one on one bouts to Thais during the 1970s.

my first online opponent was washing buttons with this char, all his attacks were reaching me and hitting me while none of my attacks were landing, i was using the drunk guy....i couldn't win 1 round then i closed and uninstalled the game...the game is too clunky any button mashing idiot can constatly knock you on your ass

You haven’t utilized the dodge system yet. Also some characters have ways to cheese spam just by standing still.

The problem is you failed to practice the fundamentals. Learn to block and evade by going to the training mode. Once you are good enough, try again fighting online opponents. Learn for losing to understand your shortcoming. That way, your first victory will feel like a reward and your gameplay will flow better.

@@WatsonDynamite i was blocking, and the moment i released the block thinking it's my turn I got knocked on my ass again...idk I couldn't tell when it's my turn ...it feels like too many attacks cause knockdowns , it's a knockdown fest
