I was very suprised how amazing this game was. When I first bought my Dreamcast everybody in the community told me how amazing this game was. I admit I'm shocked. I also only paid $2.00 Canadian for it CIB. Definitely worth playing.

That's a bargain price to pick this up for, definitely got your money's worth. The sequel is well worth picking up too if you ever come across it.

@@ryoma0045 ever played Sega Marine fishing? That's an absolute blast, it gets over shadowed by sega Bass fishing.

I haven't, I think it only got a PC release in the UK. But I do love playing Sega Bass, got it for a birthday present with the fishing rod back when it came out. One of the few games I ever managed to get my dad to play. Might have to hunt down a copy of marine to give it a shot.

@@ryoma0045 Marine fishing is completely different but you will love it.

Don't think I've ever played Virtua Tennis actually. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure the only tennis game I've ever played is the Mario Tennis game on the Game Cube which I liked a lot. Sadly, doesn't look like this game is quite as wacky as that one.

Apart from the training minigames and some goofy unlockable costumes that dress you up and makes the ball hits have crazy sound effects that's about it. Both great games though and tough to choose which is best between them.

Nice reviews! Loved the world tour back then. Can't wait for your review on VT2 / SEGA Sports Tennis 2K2 :') we need more games like these nowadays. BTW another fun one was Roland Garros 1998 for PC. Pretty fast.

Thank you! I agree that we could do with a new tennis game that plays like these, most of the newer releases focus too much on the presentation and players rather than the gameplay. I assume the reason they can't port any of the series is due to licensing, but that's all the more reason for a new game to be made. Roland Garros is a pretty good game too, another would be the Smash Court series on both PS1 and PS2 that went from arcade style gameplay to a bit more simulation like.

Hey great video man. I havent played this one but it looks like a lot of fun, and looks great on the Dreamcast as well. I'll have to keep an eye out for this one. And your Dad taught Tennis for 50 years? Thats awesome dude!
@ryoma00454 жыл бұрын
Thanks dude. It's relatively cheap so if you do come across it snap it up! My Dad was a legend in the UK tennis scene, at least to me 😁 Taught many high profile stars all his life like Sue Barker to name just one, so it what I always wanted to do too.

I don't even care for tennis but I played the hell out of this one. Addictive. Great review! 👍

Thanks dude! I often feel that goes for a lot of sport games, and games like this, NBA Jam and NFL Blitz do a great job of bridging the sport and enjoyment together.

@@ryoma0045 Absolutely correct. Still play NBA Jam on the GameGear!

Is VR Tennis 2 better then first? Or os there not much difference? Which is the best to buy? :)
@ryoma00452 жыл бұрын
Personally I would say 2 is better. It has all the same modes as the first but expands on the world tour career with more mini games, having to juggle between playing as both male and female players along with some other changes to how the yearly calendar plays out. It's also available for the PS2 and often cheaper for it, so depending on your budget that's always an option.
