Today 18th April 2024 I visited Furguson College and collected my grand fathers academic record. He studied here from 1902 to 1904 for B A Degree.. it was a very emotional moment to visit the main building and surroundings. I could imagine my grandfather walking in those corridors 122 years ago with no fans and electricity. Must have been a huge challenge at the time to support education. I am overwhelmed...no words to express....

It is a great pleasure to study in this amazing heritage rich college. It's like paradise. Beautiful campus. Friendly intellectual students. Teachers have very good knowledge of their subjects. Cooperating non teaching staff. Here you will get a lot of new opportunities. Exposure of lot of academic fields and other extra curricular activities like sports. Hi!! I know this is kind of old video and I am not sure if you are going to reply or not. But I scored 90.4 (aggregate score 94% top 4 marks) in PCB class 12 and have some doubts. 1. Hi Tejal, UG forms get out as soon as both state and CBSE results are declared in Maharashtra. For non Maharashtra students the fees will be around 14K for FY, 30K for SY and 30K for TY. Excluding you hostel and mess fees. (This is from 2020 year, now it might have been changed). Regarding the cutoff, yaar apply Karo and wait for the merit lists. Ho jayega Aram se, har saal cutoff differ karta hai plus non Maharashtra students are all considered in one category toh udhar competition hota hai. But you scored 90+ which is good. Toh apply, wait, and watch. While doing so, apply to a few other back ups as well. Just in case. (Psychology papers have comparatively extra fees issliye second and third year mein yeh fees badh Gaya hai. 14 se seedha 30.)

Hi Anushka, Fergusson madhe BSc Hons. Tr nahi but you can do general BSc or BSc in Specializations such as Microbiology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Chemistry, Biology, Botany, Zoology, Animation, Mathematics, Physics etc. The faculty and syllabus is up to date for each subject and each subject also have seperate department buildings for practicals. @@AmKrunal Yes, you got correct suggestion to go for FC. Because, in FC the facilities are good. But since you're medical aspirant, you need to study extra, join coaching nearby college. Because, college teaching is not enough for competitive exams. If you can afford extra coaching, then FC is perfect choice. There are many coaching institutes near the FC campus. (Allen, Chate, Jha, Aakash, Kohinoor etc) I hope this helps you!

@@AmKrunal hey, Don't be sorry. It's normal to be in confusion at this stage. But remember,. Savitribai Phule And Bharati Vidyapeeth are not colleges. Those are Universities and they don't provide class 11&12 education. You'll have to take admission in Junior college for your 11&12. And Fergusson College have Junior college, which offers education till class 12. So don't look for universities, look for colleges such as Fergusson, Modern, Garware etc.

The admission process is not started yet and not going to start until the class 10th results gets out. And since this year the exams got cancelled for most of the boards, the admission process is expected to get delayed and maybe start right after the declaration of class 10th results. (With exams or without exams)

Hi Prerana, the admissions at Fergusson College mostly happen for first and very less for second year. It is not possible to get into FC directly in third year : Reason 1 : we get our major subjects (specialization) in Second year, which is based on the performance of first year. Reason 2 : chances of getting into third year are less because there are very less vacancies. That too they fill out in second year. So hardly there's seat to be filled. Reason 3: since we get our specialization in Second year, it's not much of use even if you join directly in third year. The valuable information, experience we get in first two years will definitely create an void. So, better you prepare well for the PG entrance exam of FC, SPPU, TISS and join any of these for your masters in psychology. And the good news is that, the seats for psychology masters at FC are doubled. When I was in TY, there were only 20 seats for PG, now they have 40 seats. Same applies to many other colleges like SP, Modern, TISS, SPPU. You'll definitely get into any one of these if you start preparing right now. I hope this helps you!

Hi Maitreyi, There's no harm in joining FC from civil services point of view. You can definitely join FC and prepare for the civil services alongside. A lot of my friends have did that and got succeeded too. You know Vaibhav and Nitisha from recent civil services results? They're my batchmates, they did it so can you! But you'll have to manage the expenses for college+ Hostel + mess + coaching classes. If you can manage that, the stage is yours. I just shared my opinion, hope it helped you!

@@maitreyi7202 haha Nitisha and Vaibhav were the first batch after the college became autonomous. Attendance compulsions are there but apart from psychology major people, others can manage that easily. Psychology have a lot of practicals, testing etc so you may not get free time. But if you choose some other specialization then you can definitely manage. And it's not just you, there are hundreds of others joining the college in the same hope so don't worry, you'll find your tribe!! All the best with your class 12th boards. 🌟

Yes. But there's a small issue with attendance and internals. If you can take out time for these things from your preperation then it's good. But if not then look for colleges with no strict rules for attendance and internals.

Hi Parveen, thanks for your kind words. Usually the admission process is based on class 10th marks. But since this year you didn't had any exams and marks were given based on some formula. The college only provides courses in science, arts and other vocational courses, for commerce Deccan edu. Society, the same edu. Society which founded Fergusson college, has a whole different college, which is The BMCC (only for commerce faculty) it also has a nice campus, so if you want to know, check the BMCC official website!

Yes you can. There are two or more tennis courts I guess. But I think you'll have to pay charges there. (I am not sure, you can confirm that with the Gymkhana) But again the court is there so you can play tennis at FC.

Don't get worried after reading different articles. It is based on the previous scores and that situation. Every year there's something new that we see. Just focus on what is there in your hand... You appeared for the exams, now results will be out soon. Results are not in your control, but what is in your hand is being serious and actively looking for different colleges. You'll get many good colleges if you score around 90. I got into FC with just 79 percentage. The situations are different I know but you'll have to be careful and don't miss on any other opportunities. While looking at FC ka merits, you should also look for other good colleges in the city. I got BA Psychology in my second year on the basis of my performance in Psychology in first year. So just take admission for BA and then your score in psychology will help you get Psychology Specialization in Second and third year. I hope this helps you 👍
