Windows 98 nowadays has issues with newer CPUs, and even Virtualization can't run it properly. Me, who has a CPU from 2011, i can run it without problems.

Actually, it's not 86-bit. 32-bit is referred to as x86 because of some complicated CPU naming stuff going on. I won't go into too much detail here, but you can just google it I guess.

Now where's VMware Workstation 7 and Virtualbox 4.3? Those run on Windows 2000 after installing Extended Kernel (and Extended Core I think), you'll have much better luck with them than some old versions of those hypervisors, especially more lucky with VirtualBox 4.3 in this case.

No, it won't. DOS based operating systems have kernels that don't support any kind of virtualization at all! But if someone finds a way to modify Windows 1.01 kernel for it to support virtualization, I would be glad to try this idea!

A good resource for the Windows OS ISOs would be the way back machine. Not only do they display older versions of websites, they also have a software section where you can download older versions of Windows. I think you should check it out. I hope that this helps. :)
