Also, what I wanted to point out: The concept of the album is the stolen fire, he used elements from all kinds of different songs, movies, quotes and stuff, which makes it cohesive bc of that. It’s not a random collection of songs or a mix. He also included tribal elements very often throughout the album. I also reacted to the LP live on stream on my channel and Virtual Riot was in my chat. He gave some nice insight on all the songs and also said why he didn’t do the seemingless transitions and stuff. :)

The variety in this album is what really made me enjoy it. Glad to hear more Virtual Riot tunes and very interested in what people have to say about it 👍👍

I think the album could be best summed up in the phrase “damm it’s ridiculous”, because it really is

Loved your review, I was on my edm phase last year (more like re-introduction) and this record really piqued my interest with Believe What you want, it was my first intro to VR and boy was it a great one, i’m definitely more into his straightforward dubstep/brostep type tracks but i was really surprised with the variety on stealing fire, Scorched Earth is definitely up there with one of my favorite tracks with its trance-like influence, I also really liked Need/Get and Dino Killer, tho dino killer took sometime to grow on me, overall great album and great review :), i just discovered your channel like an hour ago and i’m really enjoying your vids so far, keep it up.

I entirely agree with you, except I didn't really feel that "whiplash" of all the variety in the album. I just didn't really mind it and I thought the album as a whole was pretty nice! I do think tho that VR is kinda handicapping himself by making mostly bass music, and this album really shows it. His sound design and overall creativity that he has would sound great on other styles of music that aren't dubstep, trap, bass house and mid-tempo. Imagine VR made an ambient album, or a hyperpop album. I think those would be mega bangers! This is not to say he shouldn't make bass music entirely, in fact I want him to keep making it bc he's one of the few artist in that music sphere that I enjoy, but I'd just encourage him to branch out more often!

Ridiculous and Star Destroyer were amazing! VR's album "Save Yourself" is still the best album though. My favorite dubstep album of all time.

I'm surprised you didn't talk about Reconnect too much, definitely my favorite from this album not just because it's the closest to classic melodic VR dubstep (the melody is really good too)

@@wishimaru2102 yeah, it depends, usually when people speak of DnB you have that typical DnB drum pattern in mind. You could say it’s Drumstep instead

Paused it at the start and I’m gonna assume what will be said: - gonna mention Skrillex like everyone else… with no new additional info said that hasn’t been said in the community. - gonna call this “all over the place” when he steps out of the comfort zone that is usually placed in buildups/drops and pushing many genres aren’t liked as much. - downplay littered all around the album for genres used like house, midtempo synthwave, and oddly enough maybe the garage which were all very good throughout the album. - no mention of vr’s 2018 style brought back here from tracks like show up’s melody vroom, darkest night’s garage coming back in different variations on many tracks, one two and come with me, and probably maybe some influence from his 2017 ep still kids on New Energy but probably will just be compared to skrillex because he used a sample. Final rating: “it’s good BUT *downplay/nitpick insert here* simulation better + not better than we are dust.” I sleep.

I agree with you 100%! Another review guy said he didn't like "give in to you" and said it wasn't hitting hard, and I was like, dude that's one of my favorite tracks in this album, its so unique and sick sounding! - (Reminding me of Grabbitz style) - Mid-Tempo isn't for everybody, and his range to hit all the different genres that people like is astounding. If I think about one message he gives in this album, its at the end of stealing fire track, the sample you hear with the guy saying something magical about music and how it can be made with so many different ways (something along these lines, I can't remember). Stealing Fire album is fun and high quality. Can't wait till he does a more serious thematic toned album like Simulation again :]
