Join the Museum in welcoming Amber St. James, from the iconic legendary Haus of St. James, here, in San Diego, California, for a "sickening, prideful performance" inspired by a work in the SDMA collection. Moved by the Dogon sculpture currently on view, Amber draws energy and strength from the piece as they break free from darkness and into a joy-filled dance routine.
Choreographed and performed by Amber St. James they/them/she/hers
In memory of Larry Baza, Passionate advocate for San Diego's arts and LGBTQ+ communities
