I spent the first 20 years of my life in SLP (1982 - 2002) and grew up in the Aquila neighborhood, just north of Knollwood Mall. I don't know much about it these days, but it was a positive community to be a part of when I was young.

Wow thanks for this video. I grew up and live in SLP and I love my town. I love seeing it get some spotlight. Fyi, we are starting to reestablish our downtown after years and years of neglect.

Great video!!! I've lived in St Louis Park for almost 10 years (moved here from San Francisco) and agree with everything that you said except for the train noise. I can literally walk from my front door down a few blocks to the train tracks at the intersection of Brownie Lake and Cedar Lake and I never hear anything. I'd highly recommend SLP to anyone looking for a nice quiet neighborhood in the Twin Cities.

Like I said, I was reaching for negatives! Maybe if your place is RIGHT on the tracks? Haha. SLP is amazing!

Another gem in SLP is Nordic Ware. Their outlet store is the bomb! They even sell imperfect cookware at a discount - go get yourself a bundt pan!

love the video but I feel like it casts an image of SLP being dominated by big chain stores and shops, when we actually have a lot of great privately owned business (spoiler alert, the West End is indeed in SLP but from my experience people who live in SLP don't go there much): we have two of the Twin Cities best sports/neighborhood bars in Bunnies and Park Tavern, a great local brewery in Steel Toe Brewing, Parkway Pizza is a fantastic neighbor, the SOTA Store, Ariannas Bistro, Mexico City Cafe, Britos Burritos, La Bodega Taco Bar, and more. We are also the first MN Suburb (I think) to pass a gender identity policy in the schools and though housing is expensive, the city has strict work force housing laws on new developments, and much of the development in town is indeed workforce housing. And as noted much work is being done in the older downtown(ish) area.
