Virtual Tour of the Lincoln Neighborhood

Certainly one of the most diverse and colorful neighborhoods in Tacoma, the Lincoln neighborhood stands out for its close-knit community, the stunning Lincoln High School building, amazing food, and some of the biggest festivals in the area. On this virtual tour we will explore the origin story of the Lincoln neighborhood and how it became the wonderful slice of Tacoma that it is today.

This place in Tacoma is where I was raised. I went to Lincoln High. as well as Stewart middle school. This walk down Licoln district just blew up my memories. So many familiar place are gone now but thank you for giving me a view of my childhood and a place I can rewatch whenever I need a memory blast.

Went to Lincoln in 76 & 77. We lived on Tacoma Ave. My bedroom window faced the clock tower. Flying J Diner, Mrs. Frisbies Bakery & most of Mckinnon's store were Iconic. Mrs. McKinnon carried all kinds of school supplies but also all things required for sewing classes. Her Sister & her brother in law worked there as well. Her Sister took care of the window corner display counter filled with candy & snacks. Mrs. McKinnon personally helped me with selling jewelry I learned to make at Lincoln High. Taking me to a wholesaler of jewelry findings & beads. She helped me purchase supplies & let me pay her back through sales of my jewelry in her store. It was a wonderful experience. Oh, the many memories....

What a good job! I so enjoyed the walk down memory lane. I grew up in this district... these is so much more to tell! I LOVED listening g to you. At first, hmmm the voice? Then as it you went on I realized your cadence made your tone seem like a 1950's radio guy... plus I really like the "twighlight zone" feel to your talk. I give you 4+ .
