So editing this video kicked my ass, because it turned out to be pretty huge. Regardles, I'm pretty happy with the result, since different origin stories of the messer keep circulating without any proper scholarship to back them up. In this video I tried to convey what I know of the subject, trying to seperate myth from what can be found in sources, as well as providing a list of sources used (in the comments, because KZbin doesn't allow long vid descriptions).
