can you tell me good sir what is that "street" when you start walking at 7:30 ? why is it always filled with bunch of mostly girls with signs and stuff just standing there and waving? are they like some wannabe influencers looking for "followers" or because some of them sometimes hide their face when someone with a camera walks by - are they trying to get clients for ... you know. .....

You should try Yokohama next to find some illuminations. Shinjuku is more night life and party district, not very much illuminations to see even compared to Shibuya which is also another trendy district. I noticed a lot of big illuminations in Tokyo are concentrated in the central 3 wards area of Chuo, Minato and Chiyoda and some nearby areas. You can keep walking around these areas more to find more illuminations.

9:47 I can’t grasp how public performances are received in Japan. When it’s just normal singing, the crowds are huge and everyone seems captivated. Yet, when there’s an amazing K-pop dance cover by far more talented performers, it barely gets any attention 😂. Personally, the former is just ‘meh’ to me, while the latter really makes me go ‘wow!’

What’s with all the girls standing around waving at people ?
@a613749 ай бұрын
Because Kabuchiko is a red light district in Shinjuku. It's a nightlife party area which is why you see girls waving as well as couple few trashes on the side piling up and lot of tourists during weekends.

@a613749 ай бұрын
Shinjuku doesn't have a lot of it unless you are near the station, same with Shibuya. These are more trendy party night areas. Central Tokyo wards like Minato, Chiyoda and Chuo have more lights than these 2 areas as they are more high end districts.

Very surprised that Japan, where Christianity is a minority religion, would decorate for the holiday at all.
@jtho89379 ай бұрын
It's the commercialization. You think the modern West has lost the plot? Japan never had it in the first place.
@a613749 ай бұрын
Christmas is also a cultural celebration, it doesn't have to be associated with religion to celebrate it. Western holiday celebrations have been popular in Japan for a long time and the 3 most popular ones are Christmas, Halloween and Valentines.
@nikpav9 ай бұрын
Wrong. Christmas is a religious celebration, it's a celebration of Jesus's birth, not what West has made it to be decorating with lights, Santa Claus and giving presents to each other. It's like a non-muslim celebrating Ramadan or a non-hebrew celebrating Hanukkah. Some things are to be celebrated exactly because they're religious. Modern World is simply trying to remove religion and make it obsolete, which is unfortunate... I love Japan but what they're doing with Xmas is just wrong... @@a61374

Why didn't you show more of the Beer Weekend? That was the best part of your walk. It was like you were afraid to hang out there. You left so quickly, like a loner. You should have stayed longer and showed us the fun of that event. You could have met a girl. Everything that came afterwards was boring.
