Great to see the new NS 'TAG' Heritage Unit on Horseshoe Curve with a seasonal dusting of snow. Great Grab Bag. The wayward Ashland driver continues to be the recurring feature.

Loved seeing Revy, Hesperia, and Horseshoe Curve--I've missed them. The new heritage unit is gorgeous and the hot brakes were scary; I hope they got things fixed without injuries or damage. Thanks for another good one and best wishes to Joe Peach!

The TAG unit is awesome, saw it in person at the Altoona RR Museum for its unveiling. Much better than the CSX ones could ever dream of being, great video VRF!

0:52 HRMX 9120 was sold off by the Mt Raineir Scenic Railroad in August. It's an ex-Illinois Central GP10 which was acquired in 2018. Turns out Mt Raineir didn't need a 3rd diesel to run excursions, as they have five steam locomotives they could use, but only one is readily available to run. I believe the Abilene & Smoky Valeey Railroad got this unit to power their new dinner trains 2:24 Illinois Central SD70 still in its original paint 2:36 I thought Canadian Pacific no longer had triclops SD60Ms! CP only has five of them, and they're all ex-Soo Line 5:29 NS 4851 is the Tennesee, Alabama, and Georgia heritage unit. The 92-mile TA&G became part of the Southern Railway in 1971 8:44 this whole train is interesting! CN100 leader, ex-Citirail trailing, welded rail train, and a snowplow on the rear 9:30 amazing to see four Ferromex units together! 10:33 Railroads have recently gotten MOW locomotives that are externally different from regular locomotives, but are the same internally so that nonunion MOW workers can operate them. 14:02 locomotives from both major Mexian railroads trailing

Strange question, but whenever there is a train that has more than one engine, do laws require that there must be a operator in each one of the additional engines?
@PetesPrettyGoodTrainsАй бұрын
No, all controlled from the front unit. There are cables running between the engines to make them basically operate as one.
@pizzasubsАй бұрын
@@PetesPrettyGoodTrains Nice, that makes it easy for the front operator of the front engine, so for instance if the train need to go up a steep mountain, that is pretty much why they have all those other engines hooked up together, think I was advised this but forgot but if you dont mind me asking, are all the engines running at the same time, or can the operator of the front engine startup any of the other engines when needed, and lets say if the front engine operator has to add a little more power he can control the power in all the other engines too right?
@413TomaccoRoadАй бұрын
AN operator...
@pootispiker2866Ай бұрын
@@pizzasubsThe engines all run at the same power as the front one. There is no case in which this wouldn't happen unless one was shut off. The conductor can start up more engines but that's usually not allowed in order to save fuel

0:29 So what should you do if you see a train like that? Call 911?
@KansasCityRailfanАй бұрын
Call the RR's incident number. It should be on their signal box or crossing box.
@Dickpeterballs6969Ай бұрын
Call the emergency # only if you see flames, but even then a detector will probably pick it up quicker

Looking at NS heritage engines vs CSX heritage engines just makes CSX ones look so dumb, wish they'd never painted them. 3/4s a engine is like 3/4s the effort, and the best part is, CSX won't respond at all as to why, only removing comments they don't like. UP paints the whole engine, why CSX has to be the odd one just baffles me.
