So happy you're building up your KZbin channel and sharing your thoughts on human nature, evolution and stay current. I was first exposed to your work by David DeAngelo :)

Thanks! The DeAngelo work goes way back. Appreciate your support.

Love your work, Geoffrey! Any chance of you speaking with Dr. Sapolsky on the podcast?
@GeoffreyMillerPhD5 жыл бұрын
Maybe. That would be interesting. I took Sapolsky's animal behavior class at Stanford almost 30 years ago... we argued a lot. :)

This is hands down the best author's preview video I've ever seen. I've uploaded a half dozen of them over the years, along with 800+ teaching and performance videos. You make me feel like the rankest sort of amateur. Just brilliant.

Awesome. You're about the only one I'm aware of talking about virtue signalling with this much rigour. And I doff my hat to you for that. And if it has even half the humour that pervaded Mate. I suspect it'll even be a more awesome book. Sure enough, I'm buying it when j get my cards sorted out. Also, can you do a video in your advice to people in their 20's with seemingly no clear directions or idea of what they want to do with their lives other than fucking attractive women. I know you have suggested that no one should take up Evolutionary Psychology as an academia path,and will be better off just reading the good books on the topic. So, do make a video how you think a 24 year old male in Lagos, Nigeria, or anywhere else should approach life going forwards. Thank you

“Do good and talk about it“. No, virtue signaling is not new. But now it‘s mostly words, no deeds.

The negative use of this term is likely meme worthy, based on the literal "Bat Signal" from Batman. The biggest problem with those who use the term in a negative manner is because those that do it offer no real solution and/or have no skin in the game when they essentially throw someone or something under the proverbial bus. These acts are hollow and do a great more harm than good. Indeed it is a shame to call it virtual signaling in the first place because there is no virtue at all to be found in these acts, only empty greedful pride.
