I have missed you old friend. I started watching young, when 14/16 years old. Now I am 27, I have become a man and have good job in a Technical field (Engineer) I still enjoy knifes and sharpening for myself and the people that are near me. I am very thankful to see you again.

Wako, I’m happy to see you doing well and posting again. When this video popped up in my feed it made my day. I learned to sharpen by watching your videos. When I was first starting out many years ago, I was getting very frustrated, but I followed your videos, using them not only as a learning tool, but also as inspiration. I stuck with it and persevered, and now I am able to get all of my knives SCARY sharp with ease. My friends and family are always sending me their knives to sharpen. It’s such a great skill to have, and it allows me to buy any knife I want without worrying about how it comes from the factory because I know that I can sharpen it to my liking and even reprofile it if need be. It is all because of you being generous enough to take the time to freely share your knowledge. So I just wanted to thank you for that my friend. 🙏🏼 🔪 🇯🇵

I have a Beretta Loveless hunter knife I love minus the hollow grind. I believe they were made by Moki Japan. Very good knife size albeit a bit small for deer. I have used your method of not removing organs only meat from deer the last 7-8 years. It’s a lifesaver. . I can process a medium whitetail in 30-45 minutes now. I like you have assembled many knives for the purpose. I recently received a kizer harpoon that will work well. I have a Kershaw diskin with 14c28 I really like. It is perfect size for my needs and the steel stays just right throughout the removal of quarters. I also recommend ken onion design Crkt fixed blade in bohler steel k 110. It’s probably my favorite despite having a lot more pricy blades. Stay well.

Hey my friend! So good to see you on here again! I usually don't care for a hollow ground knife but the one exception is what you are using it for hollow grinds work really well for game dressing and preparation. I am sure you will like that one.

I once saw you process a deer for meat. I've taken many deer and seen many processed. I've never seen anyone but you process a deer down to individual muscle groups. I'd love to learn that skill. Most people I know go to a butcher make "some" cuts and grind up meat. Others I know make clumsy chunks that will work but doing the work this way feels clumsy and slow. I use diamond stones and water stones. Have not tried glass but I've seen them in magazines.

I have convexed flat grinds before but never hollow. I suppose it's the same principle just less space to work with
@theend___.Ай бұрын
Hollow and concex are the opposit and not the same.
@blacklisted4885Ай бұрын
@theend___. yes I understand that. But I mean when 'convexing' a non convex blade -- hollow or flat grind. You are mainly working with the final bevel.
@CNYKnifeNutАй бұрын
@@blacklisted4885not mainly, only. Hes just talking about working the secondary bevel (the actual edge) anyway. Convex edge vs convex grind. I like to keep a convex edge on my ultra thin (3-5 thou BTE) hollow ground knives, for obvious reasons.
@blacklisted4885Ай бұрын
@@CNYKnifeNut omg yes I understand that again. On a full flat grind you can blend it in easier is what I meant. The stone can blend it in further. Maybe it's easier drawing what I mean anyway. Ok thankyou. I have done it myself as I said.

I seem to have trouble with the tilt method... I'm prone to overdoing it and rounding over the tip! Practice makes perfect I guess. After reading up a little on some metallurgy charts, I was shocked to see the toughness rating of humble old 420HC & decided to give it a chance. Got a Buck 117 which I put a similar edge on (albeit using diamond plates, ceramics and strops) & so far used a few times for tinder preparation for bonfires. Edge retention may not be its strength, but I have no complaints in use so far. It returns to sharp easily with a quick stropping.
@Wolf_KАй бұрын
Here’s a tip 😂 : Don’t try to sharpen the tip, just very close to it and you’ll hit the tip anyway.

It's actually not real walnut but a ''Heritage Walnut DymaLux'' walnut stain. The same material changes colors and gives it as cherry, etc. The same concentric circles on all Buck handles show this.
