This movie is far from terrible honestly, it just doesn't do anything to really break away from horror conventions or subvert horror expectations. The acting is passable, the effects are cool and I liked the concept. There are your standard stupid horror movie decisions and wtfery but compared to shit like Hereditary and Death House this is gold in my opinion. :3

I've never understood the hate for this film, I really enjoy it. Great practical effects and action and interesting enough characters.

Ask Jamie Lee Curtis, she hated the movie.

rodster6 Many found it unoriginal, derivative and many found it similar to another flop, Deep Rising.

***** I've never seen Deep Rising. Yeah it's not hugely original, basically The Thing at sea but it does it in a fun way.

In this Cold War-era film, I want to know how an incorporeal entity that relies on Frankensteining people into a body started making its body on the ship in the first place.

18:47 - "ЦРЩ ФКУ НЩГ?" = "WHO ARE YOU?" on Russian keyboard. I'm only pointing that out because I'm surprised that they bothered. Language-changing screen later - not as good. It says "Японец", "Итальянец" e tc. but those mean "Japanese man", "Italian man" and so on. The language in the lower left corner says "W

"And English language is always with the British flag in Russia, most of old-school teachers of English won't even acknowledge that there is an American English." I learned that when I played _Everlasting Summer_ it was nice to see a visual novel where the words were spelt correctly (except for author)

So "humans = virus, so we takes spare parts from them". Am I the only who found this logic a little... illogical? Also, about this flag issue... maybe it's because we often buy our software from Americans and not the English? Actually we don't have any flags there nowadays, but I remember American in some old versions.

I find this movie under rated , despite its really bad reviews and even Jamie Lee disowning it. Not the greatest of movies , even dumb around the edges a bit , but i found it fun creepy enough. Plus i like the practical effects quite abit too. I think i gave it awhile ago a 6.5 out of a Booshty ten.

Nice, a reviewer who is actually familiar with Cliff Curtis! I thought he was great in 'Sunshine', can't believe he was in 'Last airbender'.. wish he wasn't. its a shame he's often underused, even when he gets a cool role like Pablo Escobar.
