Yes, proof of funds is needed. As soon as your spouse gets all his documents ready, he can file for his family.

Hello. I watched your video and I just have few questions. How longafter submission before your husband got response from SEF. Also, did you legalize your police clearance certificate from Portugal embassy in Nigeria before sending to him or you only authenticate at the ministry of foreign affairs. Thanks

It varies. Mine took 12 days. Others 7 days, and some took months. First, you’ll have to authenticate the police character certificate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before taking it to the Portugal embassy in Abuja for submission. Then you can send the documents to your spouse in Portugal.

I have legalized all other documents, it's only remaining my police character so I want to know if I can legalize the same day I take it to the embassy. Thanks
