I've linked two Visaton ( installed inside 2 " mini cubes " ) with two Vox Bc 108 ,which are connected to the Auratone A 2- 30 , the combination of these parts, no matter if i play Lp records, Cd , or Usb, gives me an incredible sound output, and a satisfying quality !

I like Visaton speakers, due to its price/performance proportions. I'm looking for some Visaton FR8 4 ohm speakers. Did you ever test these speakers, en how do they sound? For a portable boombox, I don't like it to use 8 ohm speakers, because you lose a lot of loudness rendement in comparison to a 4 ohm speaker...

the bass is not very good ..... ! the visaton frs8 M is better than the frs 8 ! but it s a good mids speaker for a boombox

If you still need it maybe try out 2,5L to 3L vented. Actually there are cool build plans for these speakers especially a certain transmission line speaker that goes down to 75Hz

this lil s"shit" has unbelievable sound stage btw:) i have pair of 1/4 TL floor standers with visaton 170s for mid base and low-s - best consumed with lamps;) cheers:)
