Vishy Anand's phenomenal chess memory | Olympiad special

We all are aware of what a genius Vishy Anand is. One of the qualities that has led to his immense success in chess is his memory. In a stream dedicated to 100 days to the Chess Olympiad 2022 (held on 18th of April 2022), Sagar tested Vishy with an Olympiad quiz. He had collected 9 positions and he asked Anand about the players, the year it was played and also the move. How did Vishy do? Well, check out the video to find out.
At the end of the video, Anand also explains one of the techniques that has helped him to keep a lot of positions in his mind.

Incredible memory! It looks like to be as good as Carlson, Anand and the like, one needs to study ones' owns games as much as the games of other masters.
