We all are aware of what a genius Vishy Anand is. One of the qualities that has led to his immense success in chess is his memory. In a stream dedicated to 100 days to the Chess Olympiad 2022 (held on 18th of April 2022), Sagar tested Vishy with an Olympiad quiz. He had collected 9 positions and he asked Anand about the players, the year it was played and also the move. How did Vishy do? Well, check out the video to find out.
At the end of the video, Anand also explains one of the techniques that has helped him to keep a lot of positions in his mind.

He made it sound so simple. If you remember the stories, you remember the details. As simple as that!!!! That's why he is a legend.

Incredible memory! It looks like to be as good as Carlson, Anand and the like, one needs to study ones' owns games as much as the games of other masters. It was wonderful to hear the "back- stories" and I'll never get tired of listening to Anand and Shah! This is yet another Super-Shah share! Thanks!!

"You just need some stories. You remember the stories, you remember the details later" Wonderful & powerful words. These are life lessons & memory improvement system. If we want to remember something in life, we generate stories around the important items, days, places, etc., then it would be in our brain database forever. Kudos to Vishy! Kudos to Sagar for creating such a nice positions!
