One of the big attractions for me to Thomas' work is its eclectic nature. Have always hated the narrative that you should go out, research heavily, set up a shot, snap 1-2 shots max in a day, and then call it. Might lead to fantastic final images, edited to fit a very set narrow visual formula / be better for portfolio work - but I think it undermines the enjoyment as a view. It's a bit like if Anthony Bourdain had only specialized in white cloth french cuisine. Give me the street food, the variance, the discovery, and the dynamism of the unexpected and take me along on that journey. Love it =)

Hi Alister, First of all I want to thank you for all your work. I absolutely love your approach to landscape photography and I never miss a video! My comment has to do with landscape photography and the environment. I decided to leave this comment because it's an important topic and you have talked about it in your previous interviews. I am aware of initiatives such as Nature First and Leave No Trace which are absolutely essential. However, as landscape photographers the biggest impact we are having is related to our CO2 emissions. Staying on trail, picking-up trash and educate people is great but flying over and over again to the same location to catch better light or a slightly different composition is our single, greatest impact. Exploring local areas instead of using transcontinental flight is probably a top priority if we want to reduce our impact. (Which has been easy to do lately with the current situation...) I am not saying that we should never take a plane ever again but we certainly should do it less often. Trips should probably be longer and have more meaning. The experience that we get from a trip is invaluable, but are we giving back to local communities in any way, shape, or form? I am starting to digress here but as landscape photographers, we should definitely think about it and I would be curious to hear what other pro landscape photographers have to say on the matter. Looking forward to today's video with Thomas and thanks again for your invaluable contribution. Thibaut

Thanks very much for your comment, and I am right with you there. My international travel has been way down in the last two years and in future we are doing way less workshops.

Engaging and interesting chat. I can certainly relate to Thomas's approach when on location, to make the most of it regarding photography, video, time spent exploring, etc. Hope you're arm grows back for the next episode 😉

Hi Alister: Okay . . . you can criticize me for providing a comment on this video so quickly after viewing Part 1 of your discussions with Thomas but I was so enthusiastic to see Part 2. I have certainly seen a shift in the creation of Thomas's images over the last couple of years and that is okay. The journey of creativity is always entertaining and enlightening. Looking forward to Part 3 of your discussions with Thomas. Cheers. . . Keith

Great to hear from Thomas who works so hard and is such an inspiration. Must admit I learnt from experience about about pushing myself too hard work wise years ago. I used to work 16 hour days and sometimes six days a week, it was my career and my passion as a press photographer. But unfortunately I got burnt out after a few years and became unwell. So in summary working hard is good but don't push yourself too hard young Thomas! 😃👍

Thanks for your great support. I did the same in international finance. Life is too short not to enjoy most of it. How hard it is to learn and remember this really simple lesson!

Sorry, Alister, but I have to agree with Roman Averin's earlier comment; I too find the cowl-like shadow around your neck/head a distraction. Hopefully, you'll be able to resolve this problem ahead of future presentations. In the meantime, your talk-shows are excellent. Cheers.

These videos are way to short. I can listen to you guys talk for hours. The fasted 15 minutes of editing I have ever done. Are you planning to upload the whole interview in one video after these 3 are uploaded?
